Serving and Advocating for the Hungry and Homeless

in our Community

DONATE SNACKS for the HOMELESS 2nd Thursday Each Month

Once a month, we collect donations of nutritious snacks for the homeless men that come to the Legion of Mary Brother House for a break from life on the streets. The next visit by St. Rose parish men will be on Thursday, February 8. Please help by donating snacks (granola bars, cheese sticks, trail mix, bananas, oranges, apples or a dozen or two fresh-made individually-wrapped sandwiches). Financial donations are also most welcome.

FOOD for CHRIST 2018

“Feed and Be Fed” With your help, St. Rose Parish has successfully begun a bold new initiative to END HUNGER in our COMMUNITY. So far in January, parish families have donated over 164 jars of peanut butter and jelly (over 400 pounds of food!) That is 6,560 servings of food and a great start toward our goal to collect at least 80,000 servings of food — one serving for every hungry person in our community!

Right now, 80,000 people in Montgomery County are hungry and struggle to put food on their table. 1/3 of them are children! We are asking every member of our Parish family to help feed hungry families. What can you do?

Each week, when you shop for your family, purchase one extra non-perishable food item to FEED those in need.

Bring food donations to Mass (items needed in January are peanut butter & jelly) and place them in the donation bins in Church, and then BE FED by the Word of God.

We need your help to defeat hunger!

Beginning on February 5th

St. Rose of Lima will be participating in an

INTERNATIONAL PARISH SURVEY!

PLEASE READ!

From February 5 to March 5, 2018, St. Rose of Lima Parish will be participating in an international survey about discipleship conducted by the

Catholic Leadership Institute!

Please help us participate by completing a 10-15 minute survey online. The survey can be accessed online by visiting www.disciplemakerindex.com . The survey will only be available from February 5 through March 5, 2018, and will ask you to reflect on your own spiritual growth and enable you to provide feedback on what efforts the parish is doing to help you grow. All responses will be confidential and the parish will only receive information about the community as whole.

If you do not have internet access, there will be opportunities to complete the survey after daily and Sunday Mass beginning in February. Starting on February 4, we will have paper copies of the survey available via the parish office.

We are trying to get the highest response rate possible. This information will be invaluable to Msgr. Graham and our various ministries as we plan ahead and try to be the best disciples we can be. We will receive the results this spring/ summer at which time we will share what we have learned with the entire parish.

Thank you for helping with this important project!
