With the “loss of Adab”, even the knowledge of who the

true leaders and scholars is lost, and the confusion compounded.

Actually this confusion in knowledge can be corrected

through Education ,

Yet, education in man cannot be truly done without his

having basic “Adab” itself.

Thus the importance of restoring the “Adab” in every

Muslim.

It may even have to begin by correcting their misuse of

“terms” (istilah) and clarifying wrongly assumed “definition”

(ta’rifat) that may have caused whatever misunderstandings.21REMINDER FROM MY PREVIOUS LESSONS



“Whomsoever that Allah wishes for him goodness, He will

make him a FAQIH (learned) in matters of the

religion(Deen); and for everything there is a pillar, and the

pillar of this religion is AL-FIQH – (the profound

understanding of the Deen); a learned scholar (of the Deen)

is more difficult upon satan than a thousand worshippers.”

who prove themselves true, and most certainly will He

mark out those who are lying.”

(Qur’an: Ankabut: 29: 2-3)



“Verily, Allah loves [only] those who fight in His cause in [solid] ranks,

as though they were a building firm and compact.”

(Qur’an: Saff: 61: 4)

“Now when Moses spoke to his people, [it was this same

truth that he had in mind:] "O my people! Why do you

cause me grief, the while you know that I am a

messenger of Allah sent unto you?" And so, when they

swerved from the right way, Allah let their hearts swerve

from the truth: for Allah does not bestow His guidance

upon iniquitous folk.”

“Give yourself up to the study of jurisprudence (FIQH), for the

knowledge of jurisprudence is the best guide to piety and the

fear of Allah and it is the straightest path to the ultimate goal.”

“A learned FAQIH (scholar & teacher) is truly FAQIH, one who does not cause others to feel

despair from receiving the mercy of Allah (i.e. Not overly strict and too ‘harsh’); and neither

does he (give the impression by his behaviour, a guarantees as if ) anyone can avert or

withhold the wrath (punishment) of Allah, nor allows opportunity (by giving dispensation)

for anyone to disobey Allah (i.e. Not being inappropriately lax and too ‘nice’).

may be to those who ascribe divinity to aught but Allah (may be to those who ascribe divinity to aught but Allah (MUSHRIKUNMUSHRIKUN).”).”






“O YOU who have attained to faith! Shall I point out to you

a bargain that will save you from grievous suffering [in

this world and in the life to come]? You are to (IIMAN)

believe in Allah and His Messenger, and to strive hard

(JIHAD) in Allah's cause with your possessions (AMWAL)

and your lives (ANFUS): this is for your own good - if you

but knew it!”

(Qur’an: Saff: 61: 10-11)



“[If you do so,] He (Allah) will forgive you your sins, and [in the life to

come] will admit you into gardens through which running waters

flow, and into goodly mansions in [those] gardens of perpetual bliss:

that [will be] the triumph supreme!”

the white-garbed ones, "Who will be my helpers in Allah's cause?" - the white-garbed ones, "Who will be my helpers in Allah's cause?" -

whereupon the white-garbed [disciples] replied, "We shall be [thy] whereupon the white-garbed [disciples] replied, "We shall be [thy]

helpers [in the cause] of Allah!" And so [it happened that] some of the helpers [in the cause] of Allah!" And so [it happened that] some of the

children of Israel came to believe [in the prophethood of Jesus], children of Israel came to believe [in the prophethood of Jesus],

whereas others denied the truth. But [now] We have given strength whereas others denied the truth. But [now] We have given strength

against their foes unto those who have [truly] attained to faith: and against their foes unto those who have [truly] attained to faith: and

There is a great difference between theoretical Muslim and There is a great difference between theoretical Muslim and

true Muslim; between Muslim who is good at talking about true Muslim; between Muslim who is good at talking about

Islam and a Muslim who concerns himself in being one. Islam and a Muslim who concerns himself in being one.

it is this obsession in some people which makes them neglect it is this obsession in some people which makes them neglect

We preach Islam but forget to practice it ourselves. We preach Islam but forget to practice it ourselves.

We already have too many seminars and forums; talks and We already have too many seminars and forums; talks and

lectures; meetings after meetings; planning and concept lectures; meetings after meetings; planning and concept

papers; future plans and visions; thinkers and policy-makers; papers; future plans and visions; thinkers and policy-makers;
