Honestly speaking, the world has changed as a consequence of Covid-19 pandemic. Our parish life, along with other institutional dynamics, have equally changed. Your physical absence in the church was deeply felt, especially during the celebration of the Holy Mass. Granted that you participated in those Eucharistic celebrations through the live-streaming process, it was never the same. Nonetheless, everybody had to accept the ‘new way’ of celebrating the Eucharist for the common good and protection of lives. All of us, gradually adjusted to the ‘new reality’ with some levels of hope and expectancy. As difficult and challenging as the lockdown experience was for everyone, it provided us with opportunities for revitalized self-realization, deepening of marital and family relationships, and above all, an improved relationship with God. I want to believe that everyone has been refreshed in one way or the other, and that we have developed strong sense of optimism about life in general. As a parish community, we commiserate with some of our parishioners who lost their loved ones during the Covid-19 lockdown. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. May the souls of your loved ones and those of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in perfect peace. Amen. As we gradually return to public worship, let me reiterate that Covid-19 is still a reality in our society. We have to continue to maintain social distancing rules and personal hygiene as much as possible. WE ARE NOT YET BACK TO THE PREVIOUS NORMAL WAY OF DOING THINGS IN THE CHURCH BEFORE THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC. We will continue to adopt a gradual, considered, and structured approach to our public worship, until further notice. I hope you are returning to the church with a renewed enthusiasm, a deepened awareness of self, and a proactive love of the neighbour. As we continue to build the kingdom of God here on earth, may love, justice, peace, righteousness, and unity be our anchor. WELCOME BACK

It is with unparalleled sense of joy, that I welcome you back to the church for public

worship again, since after the Covid-19 lockdown restrictions were imposed by the

Government and Ecclesiastical Authorities on March 23 2020. Honestly speaking, the

world has changed as a consequence of Covid-19 pandemic. Our parish life, along with

other institutional dynamics, have equally changed. Your physical absence in the church

was deeply felt, especially during the celebration of the Holy Mass. Granted that you

participated in those Eucharistic celebrations through the live-streaming process, it was

never the same. Nonetheless, everybody had to accept the ‘new way’ of celebrating

the Eucharist for the common good and protection of lives. All of us, gradually adjusted

to the ‘new reality’ with some levels of hope and expectancy. As difficult and

challenging as the lockdown experience was for everyone, it provided us with

opportunities for revitalized self-realization, deepening of marital and family

relationships, and above all, an improved relationship with God. I want to believe that

everyone has been refreshed in one way or the other, and that we have developed

PARISH NOTICES

NEW SCHEDULE FOR PRIVATE PRAYERS IN

THE CHURCH – During the past few days,

increasing number of Stewards, who have

been helping us with opening the church for

private prayers, have returned to work.

Unfortunately, it may not be possible for us

to continue to maintain the previous

schedule for private prayers, due to lack of

sufficient number of Stewards. Since we

have successfully opened our church for

public worship, following the Guidelines

from the Government, and the Catholic

Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales

(CBCEW), our schedule for private prayers

has been adjusted to our current reality.

Anyone is free to come to the church for

private prayers from 8.30am, until the

beginning of 9am Mass every day. In

addition, the church will open again for

private prayers in the evening at 5.30pm,

until the beginning of evening Mass. As a

reminder, we are requested to leave the

church after each Mass, so that the

Stewards can thoroughly clean it. Please you

are encouraged to return home after Mass,

and not to remain in the church premises.

You can meet up with your friends at any

other venue, other than the church

premises. This advice is for the good of all of

us. I wish you the very best under these

extraordinary and challenging

circumstances.

Thank you very much for your cooperation.

Fr Austin Nwosu, CSSp.

LIVE STREAMING OF MASSES IN OUR PARISH –

This is to inform everyone that the daily live

streaming of Masses in our parish is as follows:

Monday to Thursday at 6pm; Friday at 7pm;

Saturday at 6.15pm; and Sunday at 10.30am.

ONLINE OFFERING/DONATION TO THE CHURCH

– With the vast majority of our parishioners,

currently participating from their respective

homes, during the celebration of Sunday Masses,

it has become critically important for us to adopt

online offering and/or donation to the church,

especially through Standing Order. A new

Standing Order Form, which the Diocese sent to

us recently, has been uploaded to the parish

website. Online offering/donation to the church

will help our parish to continue to fulfil its

financial obligations, including the ongoing

maintenance of the Church, Presbytery, Parish

Centre, and Parish Office.

MASS INTENTION/OFFERING:

For those parishioners who would like to offer

a mass please email your Intention with date and

time for the Mass to [email protected].

Please note, as it is one Intention per Mass only,

the date you request will depend on the Mass

Diary availability. Payment can either be made

on our website using ‘Donate to our Parish’ or

you can drop your money (£5 – per Intention) in

an envelope through our Mail Box outside the

Church clearly marked ‘For Mass Intention and

contact name & number’.

MARRIAGE PAPERWORK – A GENTLE REMINDER

– you need to give 6 MONTHS NOTICE of MARRIAGE – whether it is taking place HERE or ABROAD. PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE IT TO THE LAST MINUTE. Couples or individuals should speak to a Priest VERY EARLY IN THE PROCESS – so that there is no last minute rush. Marriage Preparation Courses are NOT offered EVERY MONTH. Please make an appointment directly with the Priest, contact details available overleaf.

CATECHETICAL PROGRAMMES

CELEBRATION OF BAPTISM:

With the recent Guidelines on the Celebration of

Baptism, published by the Catholic Bishops’

Conference of England and Wales (CBCEW), we

will soon resume the celebration of Baptism in

the parish. The dates will be communicated later.

At this time, baptisms in the church will be for

single families. Multiple family baptisms are

suspended until further notice. The maximum

number of people attending is 30. The child to be

baptised should be held by the parents only.

Other members of the family, including

godparents and grandparents will be socially

distanced in household groups (or bubbles) in

the church (Catholic Bishops’ Conference of

England and Wales).

WALK WITH ME / FIRST HOLY COMMUNION /

CONFIRMATION / RCIA:

All Preparation courses have been suspended, as

it is not possible to conduct these while keeping

to social distancing requirements. We are

working on alternatives and the Parish catechist

will contact parents/careers directly by email.

For First Holy Communion & Confirmation, the

number of Masses will increase dramatically, to

accommodate all children and their families

while maintaining social distancing. It may not be

possible to accommodate date preferences

except in extreme cases. Your kind co-operation

is sought in this regard.

CHILDREN’S LITURGY remains suspended until

further notice. Kindly visit the Parish Website (

Home > Sacramental Preparation > Children’s

Liturgy ) for online resources to help families

follow the liturgy of Mass on Sundays and to pray

at home with children.

TICKETING SYSTEM FOR MASSES:

Our Ticketing System is available on our

website. This means you can now book

your place for weekend and weekday

Masses.

Based on the latest guidance published by

the government regarding Track and

Trace, anyone who has NOT booked for

Mass is requested to complete a Contact

Card form, which can be found on the

parish website. The Contact Card form will

also be available in the porch area of the

church. Parishioners may opt out of

sharing of their name and contact details.
