In today’s second reading Saint Paul argues that a community’s journey of faith

culminates in the thanksgiving expressed in the Eucharistic meal, when the bread is

broken, the cup of salvation is lifted up and the covenant with Christ is affirmed. In

fact, he maintains that the entire community’s “inner nature” is constantly being

renewed in hope through this thanksgiving meal. Good stewards understand that the

weekly celebration of the Eucharist is a communal gesture by which the gathered

community reveals its faith and hope in the risen Lord. Moreover, that it is a profound

communal act of faith that Christ is present and active in the world at this moment.

Given that understanding, what responsibilities do we take on to lift up the faith of

our community? What part do we play in giving it hope?

Tenth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Natural Family Planning Class

An online Natural Family Planning class will be taught by Jeff and Michelle Chardos

on June 16th. Couples can take the class from the comfort of their own home.

Natural Family Planning is knowledge of a couple’s signs of fertility and is an

effective and approved method for avoiding a pregnancy. Practicing NFP is 100%

natural — there are no drugs, chemicals or devices involved, which is one reason

many today find it to be a positive and refreshing alternative to contraceptive

methods. NFP honors our dignity as persons by respecting the natural rhythms and

functions of the body. It is very common to hear couples who use NFP speak of an

increased awe and respect for femininity and their mutual fertility, and a greater

sense of empowerment through self-knowledge. Please call Jeff and Michelle at

706-569-8512 or email them at [email protected] with any questions or to

register for the class.

Saying Goodbye To Our Priests

There will be a reception on Saturday, June 23 in Visitation Hall

immediately following the 5:30 Vigil Mass for Fr. McCarthy,

Fr. Brian and Fr. Joey so we can offer our goodbyes and best wishes

to each of them as they prepare to leave St. Anne Parish. We hope

you’ll stop by for a little cake and punch and let them know how

much they are loved and appreciated.

Spotlight on Stewardship

Eucharistic Ministry to the Homebound

Eucharistic Ministers to the sick and homebound fulfill an

important need for our Church by taking Communion to

those who are recovering from illness, or who are

homebound or in area nursing homes. If you are over 18,

in sacramental union with the Church, and have been a

member of our parish for one year, please consider

becoming a part of this ministry! VIRTUS training is

required and special “on-the-job” training will be provided.

Please contact Yvonne Russell with any questions at

706-464-7721.

Stewardship of Treasure June 3, 2018 In-Pew Offertory $23,115

June 3, 2018 Online Offertory $9,222

Capital Campaign Thank you to all who have pledged or contributed to our

Capital Campaign. As of this date, monies pledged and

collected total $4,658,634.36.

If you have not yet contributed to this very important

campaign, we hope you will consider doing so.

2018 Bishop’s Annual Appeal It’s not too late to make your pledge or one time donation

to our 2018 BAA. No gift is too small. The monies

collected help support our seminarians and religious

vocations, faith formation and evangelization for every

generation and our outreach to those in need through

Catholic Social Services. Your generosity makes it

possible to continue our mission through a variety of

ministries, programs and services which deepen and

renew our faith and bring hope, healing and the love of

Christ to all in the Diocese of Savannah. As of May 31,

St. Anne parishioners have pledged $59,852 and have

given $82,216 in one-time donations towards our goal

of $152,140.

We are now taking bulletin

ads for the July-December

2018 publication period.

There are only 14 spaces

available, so ads will be

taken on a first-come,

first-served basis. The

deadline to purchase a

business card sized ad is

June 13. For more information, please call Bernadette in the

parish office (706-561-8678).

Sewing Circle on Summer Break

The Sewing Circle is now on summer break. They will resume

Thank You!

I would like to express my sincere

gratitude to the men and women of the

Knights of Columbus. When I asked for

help to deep clean the kitchen in Visitation

Hall, they not only said “yes,” but came

with energy and smiles and did an

outstanding job. This group of dedicated people are a true

inspiration and I thank them.
