"Your light must shine so that it can be seen by others" (Matthew 5:16) Reflection: A preacher once wrote that there is no such thing as secret discipleship. Either the discipleship will destroy the secrecy, or the secrecy will destroy the discipleship. That's why being pro-life cannot just be a personal, private conviction. If it's in our heart, it needs to be on our lips and in our actions. Prayer: Praise to you, Lord God, for you open my mouth in worship and in witness; you reveal my faith through my actions. May I never try to be a secret disciple, but rather be proud to be known as one of yours. Amen.

Amen.

Come Pray the Rosary

We say the Rosary for all your prayer requests every Friday at 12pm in the Chapel.

Everyone is welcome!

After the Rosary, the Chaplet of Divine Mercy is prayed.

The Mercy, Power, and Love of God

The first reading today, from the book of Wisdom, makes its point over and over, at least five times in five verses! God is mighty, but lenient to all. God’s power is shown in kindness and clemency, not in harshness and condemnation, and those who govern God’s people must govern in the same way, with kindness. This loving kindness and gentleness is not contrary to God’s might, but is a direct result of God’s primacy over all. Who are we, then, to judge what is in the hearts of our fellow Christians and all people, when God commands justice with love and clemency? Likewise, the Holy Spirit makes up for our ignorance of what we need, speaking in a language we do not yet understand. But God knows our needs before we do, understands the intercessions of the Spirit, and helps us in our weakness. This is our hope: God’s mercy, power, and love.

Questions of the Week

Question for Children: What are the things that keep you from being a friend of Jesus? Question for Youth: The good and the bad have the same opportunity to rule our life. What are you doing (bad habits, poor choices, etc.) that you need to weed out? Who can help you with that? Question for Adults: How would you describe “the weeds” which have polluted your own faith, or the faith of people whom you know.
