Life of Mary talk # 3 was centered around Mary’s life as depicted in the Joyful Mysteries of the Rosary, from just before her Annuncia-tion until her life in the Holy Family in Egypt after Jesus’s birth. Due to a change in parish format, Annunciation and Visitation are in May and Nativity and Presentation are in June.

Mary and Joseph now married live in Nazareth as they pledge their love to each other.Joseph says he is unworthy and asks Mary for patience with his short comings, I am your servantMary acknowledges that they are blessed to have each other, and to serve God together.St. Joseph tells Mary that he too pledged to God very young of his vow of chastity. Mary is glad. They both had an interior life for God and an exterior life honoring each other in service to God.Mary and Joseph a match made in heaven imitating Christ and His Bride, the church. The Annunciation and Mary’s Preparation with a Novena. In the first six days of the novena, God shows Mary His inner plan of each of creation’s six days.On the 7th day Mary is called God’s “Chosen Dove”, espoused to the Holy Spirit. At midnight on the 8th day, Mary hears God say: “Come, My Chosen One, come to Me.”The 9th day of the Novena, heaven sees Mary crowned “Mother of God”, but Mary is unaware. On the eve of the Annunciation at 14 ½ Mary is praying: “let me live long enough to see His Mother with my eyes…” Thus, Mary is still unaware that she is chosen to be the Mother of God.The Annunciation as in Luke’s Gospel chapter one: Mary said to the Archangel Gabriel: “Behold I am the hand maid of the Lord. May it be done to me according to your word.” Mary said: “As soon as I had spoken those words, the grace of God overwhelmed me...in that ecstasy God the Father gave me His SonThe Visitation: Mary and Joseph travel from Nazareth to just west of Jerusalem to visit Elizabeth.St. Joseph stays three days & Mary stays three months. Greetings as in Luke’s Gospel, chapter 1.St. Joseph returns for the birth of John the Baptist and Mary blesses baby John.

God’s BlessingFather Robert

Bendiciones de Dios, Padre Robert D'I

The Difference between HOC and Catholic StrongHouse of Charity

The House of Charity provides daytoday operational income that supports the pastoral, charitable & social minis-tries of the Diocese, including: Catholic Charities, support for seminarian education/housing for retired priests, support for Vitality Catholic Healthcare Services, support for Catholic edu-cation, as well as support for our various pastoral ministries. Monies that are raised in this fiscal year are expended next fis-cal year. Without the House of Charity, the Diocese could not fulfill the mission that Christ gave us to care for His people.

Catholic StrongOf the funds raised through the Catholic Strong cam-

paign, 70% will remain at the parish. There is no single case statement because each parish has been asked to identify their unique needs and way they will put their dollars to use. These needs may include updates to physical plant needs, new or ex-panded youth and pastoral ministries and hiring of staff to ex-pand the effectiveness of parishes. Whatever case, each parish has had the opportunity to identify their own needs and how they would like to spend the dollars raised to meet those needs. At the same time, 30% of dollars raised will be returned to the Diocese for use in creating new religious education, addiction support and other ministries that cannot be supported by current funding sources. In addition, new evangelization efforts will be established to reach out to nonCatholics, people living on the fringes of our society and those who have left the faith.

CATHOLIC STRONG CAPITAL CAMPAIGN

The Catholic Community of South Jersey continues to reaffirm its commitment to promote the healing, redemptive and teach-ing presence of Jesus Christ to those seeking solace, for-giveness and instruction. We have followed Christ’s invi-tation to love one another, to be a community of faith, and to share our gifts in a spirit of stewardship and gratitude.

As vital and active members of the Diocese of Camden wishing to make our contribution, we are beginning the Catholic Strong Campaign to provide resources needed to strengthen our parish-es and Catholic education, expand our outreach and enhance our social services. A successful campaign will ensure the vi-tality of our faith communities and ultimately meet the evolving needs of our Diocese.

Every parish will share in these efforts with an allocated goal. Our parish campaign target is to raise a minimum of $825,000, of which we will receive 70% [or a minimum of $577,500], that will go toward parish needs. We will receive 80% of all funds raised over our parish target. The funds will be used to address the following needs: Corpus Christi ChurchNew floor and plan to add seating

and refurbish pews $150,000

Saint Mary ChurchStained glass window restoration $125,000*

Hiring of a youth minister [$25,000/year for 5 years] $125,000

New roofs on Corpus Christi Church & Rectory $ 82,500*

Parish Center Parking Lot Restoration $ 40,000

New airconditioning units for Msgr. Rocco Hall $ 35,000

Security Upgrades $ 20,000We are asking our parish family to lend generous support to the campaign. As our current parishioners, we now call upon you to carry on the generosity, spirit and sacrifice that filled the hearts of the men and women who have supported our parish and diocese throughout our history.

As we have been blessed, let us act as stewards by supporting the Catholic Strong campaign to preserve the essence of what we and all of the faithful within the greater Church in South Jersey are blessed to have and to ensure the Church’s presence in the lives of our children and grandchildren. Let us continue to show the power which blessed the first apostles to our parish and diocese. Your prayers, generosity, and sacrifice will ensure our success.God Bless, Father Chuck

BABY BOTTLE BOOMERANG

Funds are raised to help support the Cornerstone Women’s Resource Centers. Each family is asked to take home a baby bottle and return it with your donation by SUNDAY, JUNE

10. Your spare change can save a life! Bottles will

be available May 12&13 at all Masses.

CATHOLIC STRONG

As we continue our parish efforts for the Catholic Strong campaign, it’s important that we remember that 70% of the funds raised remain in our parish. This diocesanwide campaign is about our parish and our diocese.

Over the past several weeks, we have been meeting with families to share our parish vision. For those of you who we have not contacted, you will be hearing from us soon.

A number of volunteers have stepped forward to help guide our campaign at this early stage, and I am thankful for their leader-ship, hard work and dedication. If you receive a call or email from a member of our parish, I ask that you take time to meet with them briefly to hear more about our parish vision and how you can join families who have already supported Catholic Strong.

I ask that you pray daily for the success of our campaign.

Thank you, Father Chuck
