LIVING WATERS PRAYER GROUP We meet on Monday at 7:00p.m. in the Parish Hall. We begin with the Rosary, followed by prayer and song. If you have a special petition, please place your request in the basket near the statue of the Blessed Mother. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

PASTORAL VISITS Please call the parish office if you, or a family member, are in the hospital or seriously ill at home. Fr. O’Flaherty will be happy to respond with a pastoral visit. ROSE FOR LIFE -On the first weekend of each month, a “Rose for Life” will be brought up at each Mass and placed in the sanctuary as a reminder of our Christian commitment to respect the dignity of all

HAITIAN PRAYER GROUP “COEUR D’ACCUEIL”

CONTEMPLATIVE MEDITATIVE PRAYER SESSION

We hold a silent prayer session with Eucharistic Adoration on Wednesday evenings from 7:30 to 8:45 in the Chapel located on the

south side of the Church.

Children’s Liturgy on Sundays at the 9:30 Mass for children in Grades 1 - 5. When the Celebrant

announces that it is time for the Children’s Liturgy, the children should proceed to the back of the church quietly and in a prayerful manner. A Prayer Leader will then take them into the Chapel, where they will hear the readings and have them explained in a

way that they can easily understand. After the readings they will return to the Church to sit with their parents for the remainder of the Mass.

Our Council meets on the second and fourth Monday of the month at 7:30PM in the Parish Hall. Our Council is open to all Catholic gentlemen who wish to become members. If you are

looking to support the works of our Pastor and brothers and sisters at St. John, please contact Mike Lungarini at 561-289-1896. PARISH MINISTRIES: We will be happy to place your “news and events” in the bulletin. Please make sure that your information is submitted to the Parish Office by 10:00 a.m. Monday, for the following weekend.

Supporting Life Ministry Our Group has programs that help families in need, the new born, and the homeless. We volunteer and support Boca Helping Hands (BHH), Aid to Victims of Domestic Abuse (AVDA), Birthline/Lifeline Pregnancy Care Centers, Right to Life for volunteer work at a local Assisted Living Homes. We meet monthly, and are always looking for new members. If you are interested, please contact Sharon Goldasich at 561-756-0580, or Jim Etue at 772-359-1190, or come to our next meeting scheduled for Monday, May 7th at 7PM, Room 3, in the Parish Hall.

Memorial Book Information

Any deceased family member or friend may be enrolled in the Memorial Book. The person does not have to be a member of St.John’s. Each person enrolled will be perpetually remembered in the Monthly Memorial Mass on the First Friday of each month at 8:30 am. The donor will also be remembered in the Memorial Mass. The Memorial Book will be displayed in front of the altar before, during and after each Memorial Mass. There is no set amount required to enroll a loved one in the Memorial Book; the donor makes the decision. All contributions are kept in a special Memorial Fund and used for special church projects. Acknowledgement cards will be mailed to the donor and to the family of the deceased.

THE ARTS & CRAFTS LADIES We meet on Wednesdays in the Parish Hall from 10:00am - 12:00 Noon. We would love to have some people who can sew join us. Come and have some fun. All are welcome!

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS SCHOLARSHIP St. John the Evangelist Knights of Columbus Council 11421 will be offering a $500.00 scholarship to a graduating high school senior who is a parishioner of St. John’s. Applications are available at the parish office. Cut off date is

April 30th, 2018. This will be the 15th year that we are providing a scholarship. Please call our Chairperson Edward Mottola Jr. at 561 479-2096 with any questions.

Coffee and Donuts after the 9:30am Mass, sponsored by the Knights of Columbus Council 11421. Everyone is welcome to stop by and meet your fellow parishioners. Your donations support the work the Knights do for the Church.

LADIES OF ST. JOHN’S Pleas join us for an evening of fun and friendship at our final meeting of the season “It’s a Garden Theme” hosted by the LSJ Board, May 21st at 6:30 p.m. It will be a potluck dinner.

SUNDAY MAY 13TH IS MOTHER’S DAY. Remember your mother, living or deceased, ( or any other special woman you think of on this special day) by enrolling her in our Mother’s Day Spiritual Bouquet. This is a wonderful way to express your loving thoughts. Beautiful cards and offering envelopes are available at all the church entrances.

The Supporting Life Ministry supported by the Knights of Columbus Council #11421 and the Ladies of St. John’s, would like to thank everyone who supported the Christmas Giving Tree.

The donations went to support the Birthline/Lifeline Pregnancy Care Centers. This year our donations were valued at almost $6,300 - Congratulations to those that supported this worthy cause. There are many babies and their Mom’s that benefited from our donation. Each of you has made a significant difference. Thank You !!!!!
