Miriam’s Blessing

Miriam’s Blessing is a diocesan peer-mentor ministry which provides comprehensive support to parents who receive a difficult prenatal diagnosis, whether It is the detection of a

chronic condition like Down Syndrome, Spina Bifida or Cystic Fibrosis, or a life-threatening disorder like anencephaly, Trisomy 13 or Trisomy 18. Support for parents carrying to term spans the

pregnancy, the birth and the postpartum period. Peer ministers and volunteers are screened, trained and work in teams. To expectant parents, they offer unique insight and

Spark Corner

Around the dinner table one night this week, put your phones away and spark a conversation with the following topic:

When you get to heaven, what is one question you will ask God?

We don’t know very much about heaven. Here’s what we do know: It’s going to be AWESOME! God will be waiting in this

place that’s more beautiful than you can imagine to answer all of your questions. “What eye has not seen, and ear has not

heard, and what has not entered the human heart, what God has prepared for those who love him.” (1 Corinthians 2:9)

Bethlehem Wood Carving

October 19-20, 2019| Before & After the Weekend Masses

Louie, from the Holy Land, will be here at St. Mary’s with Olive wood religious art to purchase on the weekend of October 19-20,

on behalf of Catholic Christian families in the Holy Land.

For centuries, the Catholic Christians of the Bethlehem District have earned a living by carving olive wood religious art to sell to

visiting pilgrims. Fewer pilgrims visiting the Holy Land make it more difficult for Christian artisans to support their families. The Christians in the Holy

Land have ancestors going back to the first disciples that followed Jesus 2000 years ago. They are the living stones of

the Holy Land. Louie, as founder of Bethlehem Wood Carving, has helped to continue these Christians in the Holy Land to

maintain a livelihood and their ancestral homes. Your purchases make a difference in their lives.
