Baptism is the first step to become a Catholic Christian.
Parents who wish to baptize their children agree to raise them in
the Catholic faith. For more information about the requirements for
infant baptisms, check the bulletin or call Deacon Dan. Classes are
the 2nd Saturday of each month in the Faith Formation Complex room
13 at 9 am. For Spanish, classes are the 3rd Thursday of each month
at 6:30pm in the Faith Formation Complex room 13.

Gods unconditional love through the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
This sacrament is available on Tuesdays from 8:30 to 9:00 am, and
on Saturdays, English & Spanish, from 3:30 to 4:30 pm, or at

John Paul II and sponsored by the Pontifical Council for the Family
in Rome and the Philadelphia Archdiocese. There will be many
internationally known speakers to discuss what can help strengthen
the sacred bonds of families across the globe. A special track for
youth and childcare will be available. Pope
Francis will visit Sept 26 & 27 and celebrate the closing

weekly bulletin. Having a Mass intention does not guarantee that

A special sacrament for the sick & suffering
The Catechism of the Catholic Church's section on the Anointing
of the Sick defines the purpose of the sacrament as "the conferral
of a special grace on the Christian experiencing the difficulties
inherent in the condition of grave illness or old age." (Catechism,
1527) In his Gospel St. Mark (6:12-13) gives us an indication of
this sacrament of the sick when he tells us that the apostles,
going forth, "preached that men should repent, and they cast out
many devils, and anointed with oil many sick people, and healed
them." However, the classical description which the Bible gives of
the sacrament of Anointing of the Sick is found in the Epistle of
St. James: Is any one among you sick? Let him bring in the
presbyters [priests] of the Church, and let them pray over him,
anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of
faith will save the sick man, and the Lord will raise him up, and
if he be in sins, they shall be forgiven him.

404, 419: Original sin, in which all human beings are born, is
the state of deprivation of original holiness and justice. It is a
sin contracted by us not committed; it is a state of birth and not
a personal act. Because of the original unity of all human beings,
it is transmitted to the descendants of Adam not by imitation, but
by propagation. This transmission remains a mystery which we cannot
fully understand.

without being totally corrupted, is wounded in its natural powers.
It is subject to ignorance, to suffering, and to the dominion of
death and is inclined toward sin. This inclination is called
concupiscence.
