If the fault still remains, theApplicationHAtriggers a virtual machine restart through its integration with VMware HA.ApplicationHA and VMware HA settings control the number of attempts to bringthe application online and the number of virtual machine restarts. IfApplicationHA's remediationprocedures donot rectify the fault, it notifies BackupExec to restore the virtual machine.

On receiving the notification, Backup Exec automatically sets up a restore job forthe virtualmachine. By default, you are prompted for consent before BackupExecrestores the virtualmachine. You can respond to the consent prompt through theSymantec Backup Exec Management Plug-in for VMware. The virtual machinefiles, such as, configuration, snapshot, and log files are preserved before the virtualmachine is restored. You may use these files for diagnostics and data recovery. You may delete these files after you have used them to free up disk space.
