Dear ReadersI must say how tired I am today mainly due to a very late night had

by all, after having had a fun filled evening at the Vincent's Plazayesterday for the MABS charity event with Heat FM and then makingthe biggest mistake of the evening when I attempted to drive into theold town of Benidorm after the roadshow event for a curry. Whatseemed a great idea turned into a driving and parking nightmare, massive queues at every car park and literally a snails pace of con-tinuous traffic, Benidorm was truly grid locked into a maze of theback streets. After wasting more than an hour making my wayaround the circuit with a continued attempt to find any space possi-ble I found myself back to where I had started and decided to walkfrom the other end of town. So my advice is get a bus, taxi or parkout the way and walk the rest which is what I should of done in thefirst place. After joining in with the other diners who had been luckyenough to find a parking space well ahead of my arrival and had allbeen waiting patiently, of course I was only to then face the longwaiting time as the restaurant was full and the kitchen was backedup with orders. So all in all, it was one of those nights where theevening was a great success, but it could have been better if i gotmy dinner earlier, next time I will ensure that I take my own adviceand not waste an hour driving round in grid-locked traffic!

Next weeks Heat FM radio roadshow event is at the Guinness Baron Levante Beach in Benidorm so my advice to all, is travel in by busor taxi, save the headache of the busy weekend traffic, arrive early, soak up the sun on the beach and then join in the fun and gameswith our live presenters including some amazing live music from5pm until 9pm. The event is in aid of EMAUS children's charityorganisation EURO A MONTH and is a truly worth while cause ofhelping the many local orphanages that rely completely on the helpand support of the charity workers and volunteers. So please findthe time to come down and join the Weekly Buzz and Heat FM radioteam.

So let's turn up the "HEAT" once agin in Benidorm and take the funout to the people at one of the most popular Bars in town. Also don'tforget to tune in and listen to the most popular Hit Music Station inthe Costa Blanca "Heat FM Spain" recently voted the most listenedto local radio in the Costa Blanca which continues to increase itspopularity across the North area. Now there are four live shows eachweekday from 8am until 9pm live on 90.3 Benidorm to Altea or 106.8in Calpe to Javea and remember you can also listen live via the web-site, phone App or even via Europa Network TV so you can literallylisten anywhere.

Look out for more summer fun to come with the next roadshowevents in Altea, Albir and Javea during July and August. Please don't forget that If you are involved in any organisation orcharity or if you can tell us about any local events, charity fundrais-ing especially or if there are any summer BBQ's going on please tellus about it! email [email protected]

Happy reading! Marco - Editor

As a result of the Greek referen-dum the euro plummeted lastweek and the sterling-euroexchange rate hit a seven-yearhigh at 1.43 Euros to thepound.

Expats with income from the UKand holiday makers are gainingthe advantage from the euroinstability resulting fromincreased fears in the Greekeconomy this week.

It was only six months ago when

the exchange rate stood at 1.25

Euros and many Brits can recall the2010 rate of as low as 1.14.

The latest strength in the Poundagainst the Euro situation is driv-ing the increase of money trans-fers locking in the rates togetherwith the increase in the numberof sales enquires in the CostaBlanca housing market as therate is expected to entice newbuyers from the UK.

The current exchange rate ishovering around the 1.36 area.

If you visit the RomanBaths of L'Albir, betweenthe 13th to 24th July, youcan see how archaeolo-gists work.

The museum is openTuesday to Saturday from10am to midday and 6pm-9pm. It is also openSundays and holidays from10am to midday but isclosed Mondays

In all cultures water repre-sents purity, health andwelfare. In Roman times, this concept is embodied inthe Baths, some buildingsfor the bathroom, but alsoa place of rest and havesocial meetings.

In the Open Air Museum ofthe Villa Romana de l'Albir, which is located in the cen-ter of the town in a privi-leged environment close to

Roman baths of L’Albir

the beach of Albir, you can see first-hand the ritual bathsin a hot spring built more than 1500 years ago with thehelp of thermal recreation spaces, and an educationaland accessible explanation.

Albir Sunday MarketTheres always plenty going on inAlbir, recently we have had vari-ous events in conjunction with theAlfaz Film Festival, there is a craftfair and marker every eveninguntil late by the Anchor and theFrax Fundación. As well as thevarious events Albir has a fantas-tic Sunday Market which oftengets overshadowed.

You can find the market just off themain high street in Carrer L´Arabiwhich is used as a car park everyother day of the week. It is so easy tofind and you can’t miss it as you godown the main avenue, just followthe crowds and there are alwayssome local police around for assis-tance and traffic control. The number10 bus from Benidorm takes you to

Albir as does the31 city tour bus.

So if you haven’tvisited Albir thereis no better dayto visit than onSunday morningand catch themarket, which isone of the bestmarkets in the area!

There is around 100 pitches offeringbargain prices on just about every-thing, clothes, jewellery, leather, localfruit and vegetables and in my opin-ion the only place you should be get-ting your cooked chicken for yourSunday Roast they are far betterthan anywhere else I have tried, they

also do some fantastic ready cookedribs!

The market closes by 2pm which is aperfect time to try some of the vastamount of restaurants and barsnearby, all offering fantastic menu ofthe days and all you can eat optionswashed down with an ice cold beeror glass of wine!

As explained by the Councillor forPublic Safety, Vicente Ripoll, thehouse was very old and had beenuninhabited for some time, so "fortu-nately" there are no injuries. In fact, the house was actually boarded up

Last Friday at 9.00am the emer-gency services in Benidormreceived a call warning alertingthem of a fire in a block of apart-ments.

The call came from the 15th floor ofthe high rise building. Ten minuteslater, the Local and National Policehad cut off Calle Irlanda, the streetnext to the Plaza de Toros (Bull fight-ing Arena), allowing fire enginesclear access so they could put outthe fire.

But, to everyone’s surprise, therewas no fire. However it wasn’t a joke, naughty prank, but a simulation. What confused neighbors andonlookers was the fact there wassmoke coming out of the windows.

"But, why isn’t anyone comingdown?” asked the neighbors of otherbuildings. “They are Evacuating, justlike we see in movies, is certainly not

the most secure thing to do”.

They were referring to the fact that

they were not evacuating the wholebuilding and the fire department hadonly extended their ladder to thebuilding.

The head of operations for the firedepartment of the Marina Baixa,Santiago Rivera said “The best thingto do is for people to stay in theirhouses whenever the fire is not intheir immediate surroundings" hesaid. And this is due to the fact that inthe stairwell all the smoke gets con-centrated.

The drill was all about the coordina-tion between Benidorm’s the UnifiedPolice Syndicate (SUP), togetherwith the Fire Department Comarcalde la Marina Baixa. The simulationwas a success with, 45 people intotal, and one person was rescued (afireman volunteered to pretend hehad passed out due to the heat)which would be highly likely if the sit-uation was real.

Itis known by that namebecause people who con-sume the gas usually get asmile on their face or fallinto a fit of uncontrollablelaughter, though in somecases results in the loss ofthe critical sense andknowledge and harms thenervous and pulmonarysystem.

As pointed out from thelocal police, nitrous oxide

is a potent central nervoussystem depressant witheffects similar to thoseafter the inhalation of glue, and those who consume it"seek the effect of eupho-ria and generates hallu-cinogenic disorders".

This new and already thriving estate agents inBenidorm may just have exactly what you are look-ing for both in this area and they also has propertiesavailable further the south on the Costabalnca.Their site is really worth checking. If you do not findexactly what you are looking for still make contactas they may just have a property that is about tobecome available to them. SUN SEARREALESTATES will make every effort they can tofind the property that you want.Wanting to sell a property? SUN SEA REALESTATES have list of clients that they may be ableto match with the property you have available.Contact them. Their job is to sell your property foryou at the right price.

SUN SEA REAL ESTATES also have lettings avail-able and if you are wanting to let a property makecontact. Again they have lists of clients waiting. They just may be able to provide both parties withprecisely what they require.SUN SEA REAL ESTATES have a large supply ofbank repossessed properties, many of these areavailable at very large discounts and are pur-chasable with

“Buy The Mortgage Options”This means that the banks, who now own theseproperties often do not want the full value of theproperties as they do not want to work as propertyagents. The banks just want to get back the moneythat is outstanding on their initial loans. They arenow making these properties available with fullmortgages including allowing enough money leftover for Spanish property taxes. This is what “BuyThe Mortgage” means. For example. On the website, www.sun-searealestaes.com you may read about a propertybeing offered for € 10.000. You are buying the mort-gage, this mortgage can be any amount but lets sayit is € 200.000 , in other words, you are paying €10.000 to get a mortgage of € 200.000. with anypurchase in Spain you need a notary and have pur-

chasable taxes usually it total adding up to about13% a notary, in fact you are buying a new mort-gage of € 226.000. Always remember this price isat great great discount. All the properties are worthmore than the price you are paying. This is why thebanks are offering such a great deal. These proper-ties are debts to the bank. You will be getting bar-gain prices.

The rates for these “Buy The Mortgage” propertiesare also at current rates, which are extremely low.As always the monthly repayments will depend onhow many years you want the mortgage to be over.

The greatest benefit is the fact that on these prop-erties you are getting full mortgages. In Spain nor-mally it is necessary to put down a deposit of 40%of the value. So using the 200000€ example youwould need a deposit of 80000€ plus the 13% of200000€ meaning you need 106000€ to start. Thisis not easy for many many people. Just buy paying10000€ to obtain the mortgage you are saving adown payment of 96000€ thus making these prop-erties much more available.]

This is a new method of purchase and perhapssomething that initially is not what you are used toand may even seem a little complicated. Oncegrasped it shows you haw you can afford a propertyat a greatly reduce price and allow you to get themortgage for just 10000€.Contact SUN SEA REALESTATES for all furtherinformation on the “Buy The Mortgage” scheme offor more details of the other properties the have forsale and also their rental properties

Food is very reasonable, absolutely gorgeous and friendly and professional service witha smile. Great tea and coffee and the Sunday roasts are to diefor. Can’t recommend enough as we are roast dinner holicsand the dinners are gorgeous. They do a mid week roast andalso a special menu during the week. Paul also does 3quizzes a week. Didn’t go as we go to see the entertainmentbut by all accounts they are very good. Thanks for lookingafter us and see you all soon. Can't wait. Love Mo, Jo andJo.xxx

His roastdinners are fab and there is no shortage on plate. We hadbreakfast here each morning and they were great. Every visitwas great. The staff were lovely. The barman jordan has to beone of the most cheerful and nice person and made us verywelcome. Gold star to all working here. Beach, Calpe“Wonderful experience”

Reviewed 8 June 2015From the start of the meal to the finish the Whole experiencewas excellent. From the amuse bouche to the Petit fours withcoffee, I was continuously surprised and delighted with thecombinations of flavours and how well the dishes were execut-ed. The starter of rabbit was juicy and flavoursome and thesteak for main was so moist and simply melted in the mouth, itwas possibly the best steak I have ever had. Each dish was presented exquisitely and everything on theplate was there for a reason and worked so well with everythingelse. The dessert of sheep milk, summer fruits and beetrootsounded intriguing from the menu and it did not disappoint. There was staff for your every need, the host who was excel-lent at recommending what dishes worked well with each otherand provided vast amounts of knowledge on each of the dish-es, the sommelier who recommended an excellent wine andthe other staff who were always at hand. The chef obviously knows how to cook to an exceptional levelhaving not only the technically ability, but also the vision ofwhat works well together. The price of the whole meal wasmore expensive than most in Calpe, but it was worth everypenny and more. For what you get it is exceptional value.I willdefinitely be returning on my next visit to Calpe and I havealready recommended Audrey's to everyone I know who comesto the area. Excellent experience from start to finish and wasone of the best meals I have every had. My mouth is actuallywatering thinking about the food from last night. If you come toCalpe and enjoy fine dinning you must go here. Highly recom-mended.

“Highly ambitious”Reviewed 10 April 2015You can sense in everything this restaurant's put the bar uphigh for themselves, all materials are superior quality and themenu is very ambitious, on entry you're welcomed by theMaître D, the sommelier and two waiters, serve you waterstraight away and serve you three types of bread with asupreme olive oil. The dishes very nice, but they lack a bit ofbold flavouring to convince me completely. Amuse bouche anice 'bloody Mary tomato', starters saddle of rabbit with carrot, very smooth as was the aubergine dish for the lady, Moroccanstyle lamb served with mint tea and Black Angus with perfect'cuisson', nice cheese platter and a very different herbs andflowers dessert, the most surprising dish of the evening.Very nice red Priorato. High standards, good quality food andinteresting wine list. But no wow. And we were hoping for thatwow-factor. But nothing negative, there's always room forimprovement and we'll certainly be back to sample one of theset menus that looked very interesting.

Value for money also good as offers a good menu del diaat 13euro and a VIP menu at 22euros. We can recommendboth.

“Big surpries ”Reviewed 25 June 2015We used tripadvisor to find a restaurant when two of the placeswe wanted to go to was closed. When we looked up theLeonardo was just infront of us. We had the VIP men, withgoatcheese salad and dutch steak. It was amazing. Good serv-ice, good food and good drink. We will be back!

“Friendly host”Reviewed 9 June 2015I had noticed the reviews for Leonardos but was actually intenton going somewhere else which just happened to shut! Luckycircumstance for us. We had an excellent dinner in a lovelycomfortable ambience. The host was friendly and inviting. Wellworth a visit.

“Very good”Reviewed 1 June 2015Thanks for very good meal and excellent serves! It was so niceto spend a evening at Leonardo. Best regards from Iceland :)

ARIES (March 21st-April 20th)

Whether you’re at work or at play compromise is necessary across the board. It’snot always easy for you to see others points of view, but it may work for them inreverse too so think about that. Finances are improving slowly, so continue to beassertive over cash flow.

TAURUS (April 21st-May 21st)

Others may take your quiet mood for anger, so let them know quickly that you’rejust in a reflective state of mind and have a lot to sift through before makingthose all important decisions at the end of the week. Remember to make time forfamily and friends. It’s important.

GEMINI (May 22nd-June 21st)

Lady luck seems to be on your side, so if there’s something big you’ve beenplanning, rest assured it’ll go with a swing. You can move mountains, or at leastpretty big hills, so have faith in yourself and trust your instincts. Everyone aroundyou is supportive and you’re grateful.

CANCER (June 22nd-July 23rd)

Try to be less trusting of strangers who enter your circle as not everyone is asopen and honest as you, so keep your wits about you as others see you as aneasy target. Push ahead with hopes and dreams mid week but be prepared totravel further than you’d anticipated.

LEO (July 24th-August 23rd)

Your focus this week is on life love and passion, the added bonus being thatyou’re especially popular this weather, so that feels pretty good to you too. You’rehappiest in the vicinity of home and hearth, but if that’s not possible due to work, make a little niche for you and a partner.

VIRGO (August 24th-September 23rd)

Career developments need long and hard thinking applied to them when choicesor changes feel as if you’re rocking the boat. Strain in intimate relationships hasto be faced head on, so stop sweeping things under the carpet. The quicker youface it the sooner it’ll be fixed.

LIBRA (September 24th-October 23rd)

Recent changes in circumstances have left you feeling more contented andsecure in relationships, so take the time to sit back and work out plans for thefuture with the one you love. Don’t rush things. Finances are looking up too butthat’s not to say you can go on a spending spree.

SCORPIO (October 24th-November 22nd)

You’re stuck in a nostalgic frame of mind and no matter what you do to try andbring yourself back to the present day, your mind continues to meander downmemory lane. It’s time to act, so try to snap out of this reverie and focus onwhat’s going on in front of your nose. It’s vital.

SAGITTARIUS (November 23rd-December 21st)

The effects of the lunar low makes it feel as if everything is tailing off and vanish-ing, and it’s sending you into a tailspin. Don’t let it. If you think you’re going to failbefore you even start then you will. Don’t make this a self fulfilling prophesy.Think positively and you’ll win.

CAPRICORN (December 22nd-January 20th)

Assess your progress over the past few weeks, and work out what’s working foryou and what isn’t, as it may be time to jettison any dead wood you’ve accumu-lated. It’s only holding you back. This also applies to people who are standing inyour way. Go for gold.

AQUARIUS (January 21st-February 19th)

It’s impressive how quickly you can cut through any red tape and get to thenucleus of the matter, so new friendships may be formed from existing profes-sional ones, as others are impressed with your talents. Actions speak louder thanwords so don’t waste time on mall talk.

PISCES (February 20th-March 20th)

Now that work situations are moving along unfettered, you’ll turn your attention tothe social world, and will make it your new game plan to be the one everyonewants in their social circle. Try to keep the sarcastic edge off comments or opin-ions you make about others. Not wise.

The Latest BUZZ from the Motoring World

DVLA ‘U-turn’ Over Holiday Driving Code

The DVLA has extended the validity ofits Share Driving Licence code servicefrom 72 hours to 21 days aftermotorists complained the time wasn’tlong enough.

This will make hiring a car when on holi-day much easier as the code, accessedvia the ‘View Driving Licence’ website, should remain valid while people areaway.

The RAC is calling it ‘a victory forcommon sense’.

“This is a dramatic U-turnfrom the DVLA,” said head ofexternal public affairs Pete Williams.

“Presumably theywere inundated withcomplaints from pri-vate motorists andbusinesses alikeabout three daysbeing far too short aperiod to share yourlicence with a hirecar company or anemployer.”

Holidaymakers andbusiness travellersalike will benefitfrom the extensionas it provides much

more flexibility when in the second or thirdweek of a trip.

The RAC does, however, wantanswers.

“The big question is why was the validityof the ‘share your licence’ code

fixed at three days in the firstplace, particularly as the sys-

tem was brought in on theback of the abolition of

the paper counterpartwhich took the

DVLA typically farlonger to updatewith new

endorsements.”

Car rental industry welcomes the change

The British Vehicle Rental and LeasingAssociation says the change will make itmuch easier for customers to arrive pre-pared for their car rental pick-up.

Gerry Keaney, chief executive of theBritish Vehicle Rental and LeasingAssociation said: “This common senseapproach will reduce queues at rentaldesks and give millions of renters moretime to plan and arrive prepared aheadof their journey.”

The View Driving Licence replaced thepaper counterpart to the photocard driv-ing licence on 8 June 2015. Instead ofshowing ‘the paper bit’ to those whoneed up-to-date information about a driv-ers’ endorsements, motorists generate a‘Share My Licence’ code.

It’s this that’s now valid for three weeksinstead of three days.

The BVRLA still thinks there’s some workthat could be done though.

“We think that the DVLA should extendthe opening hours of its call centre, because not all renters have access to theinternet,” said Keaney.

“The agency should also waive the cost ofthe premium line telephone service that isused to check endorsements whenmotorists turn up without a code.”

The DVLA should also be more flexible onthe ID required to view driving licenceinformation online. “Most travellers wouldfind it easier to provide a passport numberthan a National Insurance number.”

I AM HUMAN TOO!It is very inter-esting theresponse youget from the gen-eral public whentalking about Funeral Plans.

I have been toldthat I have ´ruinedtheir day` or

´upset their morning` and on oneparticular occasion I was called ´DrDeath`. Although the last comment Ifound a bit hard to swallow I dounderstand why people, in general,do not want to discuss their FuneralPlans as we are talking about ourlast act in life and it is a bit difficult toaccept that there will be an end.

On balance I have also been told´thank god he/she had a plan` or ´ithelped immensely` that they had aplan. This is the difference betweenviewing the subject from a personalperspective or from that of a friend or

loved one that has to go on and pickup the pieces.

Buying a Funeral Plan is aboutshowing respect to our friends andfamily and just planning ahead forwhat is the inevitable and savingsome money in the process. It is justone of those things that you have toget done, stick it in the draw and for-

get about it. When the time comes, those around you will thank you for it.

Remember, I have to discuss thisweek in – week out and I am humanto. So my approach is to be factualand honest. Deliver all the informa-tion required and answer any ques-tions asked and then leave it up tothe client to make their decision. Noattempt to try ´selling you some-thing`, if you do not want it. I am onlyhere to allow you to buy somethingyou need/want to do.

Obviously I sell Funeral Plans andsuggest you take the Pre-Paid optionrather than any alternative, but Iunderstand those as well. There islittle point trying to explain youroptions here but I would be happy todiscuss that with you personally, ifyou wish.

HOW TO TAKE CAREOF YOUR SENIOR DOG

Senior dogs are often overlooked at rescues andshelters in favor of the next generation of bouncy, yappy puppies.

But if you’re apack leader to apup in his goldenyears, you knowthat’s a shame, because olderdogs still have alot of love to give— and they canstill have lots ofpersonality andspunk even ifthey don’t have

as much energy as they did in their younger years.

Senior dogs also typically require less exercise, sufferfrom fewer behavioral issues, and come to you alreadypotty trained. For these reasons, they are a particularly

good choice for those adopting their first dog.

But just because senior dogs are easier in many waysdoesn’t mean that they don’t also have some special carerequirements that younger dogs don’t. Here are a fewsenior dog care tips if you’re a first-timer at adopting orfostering one of these old-timers.

Rule out medical causes for behavioral problemsSenior dogs are less likely to suffer from many issuescaused by pent-up energy since they have less toexpend. But that doesn’t mean they never experiencebehavioral issues. The first place to start with a behaviorissue, though, especially if it has a sudden onset, is at thevet. It may be an early sign of a medical issue, and catch-ing it faster can make a big difference for your pup.

Step up the vet visits to twice a year It’s also in your senior dog’s best interest to visit the vetsemi-annually since they are more likely to suffer frommedical problems. Remember, dogs age faster thanhumans, so even six months is a long time. Vet appoint-ments include many of the same routine checks as foryounger dogs but may also include additional bloodwork, dental care, and other examinations for symptoms ofissues commonly encountered by seniors.

Stay on top of parasite control As dogs age, their immune systems become weaker, sothat means the potential health risks caused by ticks, fleas, worms, and other pests are greater. Talk to your vet

about the safest preventative measures.

Watch your pup eat Is she having trouble chewing that kibble? Many seniordogs struggle with dental issues and may need to switchto different foods. Another common issue associated withcanine aging is problems with digestion. Foods designedspecifically for senior dogs often include ingredients thatare easier to digest and may even include supplementsthat help alleviate symptoms associated with aging.

Monitor physical activity more closely Just because he could handle an hour-long walk a yearago doesn’t mean he can today. Regular exercise canhelp keep your dog mobile longer and also prevent himfrom becoming overweight, which is a common issue forsenior dogs, but you also don’t want to push your pup toofar. Watch for signs that he’s had enough. Ensuring yourdog's joint health is also critical as the years go by.

Senior-proof your home As your dog ages, you may need to make adjustments tothe regular routine. For example, climbing the stairs canbecome very difficult, so keep food and water as well assleeping areas downstairs if possible.

Also, time outdoors may need to be cut down or onlydone when monitored since your dog may be more sus-ceptible to changes in temperature and less able to fendoff possible threats.

And if your dog suffers from a disability, such as blind-ness, hearing loss, or an inability to walk, talk to your vetabout any special accommodations you should make toease his experience.

Embrace every day No onewants tothink abouttheir dogp a s s i n g ,but thosecaring foran olderdog knowthat theyhave evenfewer daysto enjoythe companionship. Instead of letting it worry you or deteryou from adopting a senior dog, use it as a reminder tolive in the moment. Snuggle up. Take a walk together.Appreciate every moment your pup has to give.

CHRIS VROOM!Chris Froome used the first high-mountain stage of this year's Tour deFrance to take control of the race, powering up a punishing climb in thePyrenees on Tuesday at a pace thatnone of his rivals could match.

Froome and his Sky teammateskilled off the hopes of one contenderafter another, including 2014 winnerVincenzo Nibali, the first of the bigfavorites to crack on the final ascentof Stage 10 to the ski station of LaPierre-Saint-Martin.

As Sky led the way, with three sup-port riders strung out in front ofFroome to tug him up the gradients, the lead group shrunk to less than adozen of the hardiest climbers.Alberto Contador, the 2007 and 2009winner, was the next former champi-on to wilt as Sky rider Richie Portecame up with another burst of speed.

With six kilometers (four miles) to go,on some of the steepest sections,Froome tore away alone, getting outof the saddle as he accelerated. The

last rider to stay with him, 2013 run-ner-up Nairo Quintana, couldn'trespond and finished third behindFroome and Porte.

ENGLAND SMASH AUSSIES IN FIRST TESTStuart Broad and Moeen Ali ledEngland's charge to a 169-run victo-ry over Australia with a day to sparein the first test to make a flying startin their bid to regain the Ashes.

Broad and Moeen took three wicketsapiece as Australia, set an improba-ble target of 412, were shot out for242 on the fourth day at SophiaGardens.

"It's a start. It's a long series, it wouldbe nice if it was a one-match series,"joked England captain Alastair Cook.

"We are going to have to play well fora long period of time but I am fullyconfident the guys are up to it."

England, having drawn their last twoseries against West Indies and New

Zealand and with question marksover Cook's captaincy, were given lit-tle hope by many of troublingAustralia, who thrashed their oldrivals 5-0 in 2013-14.

But in new coach Trevor Bayliss' firstmatch inc h a r g e ,England pro-duced an ener-gised perform-ance epito-mised by theirteam spirit.

Australia, out-played formuch of the firstthree days, col-lapsed from 97for one in their

second innings on Saturday as wick-ets tumbled after lunch.

Big-hitting Mitchell Johnson bludg-eoned 77 to hold Cook's men up butthey sealed victory when JoshHazlewood holed out to long-off.
