BLACK MARBLE IS STILL AVAILABLE! Are you interested in purchasing a piece of St. Francis de Sales history? The rich Italian Portoro black marble, which has graced the walls of the Sanctuary of our parish, may be purchased for $100, for a 12” x 12” square, ¾” thick; custom orders are also available. Historical records date the marble to the first century, BC, as the marble was used to build columns, altars of temples and churches throughout Italy, including St. John Lateran. SPRING BIBLE STUDY The St. Francis de Sales Bible Study Group will begin the next 7 week study session on Wednesday, March 14 through May 2. The focus of this study will be a new Bible Study series entitled, “David,The King” by Bishop Robert Barron which is based on books 1:2 Samuel. In this study Bishop Barron will help us to understand David as a pivotal figure in light of the 1st King and the King of kings. The Bible Study class will meet on Wednesdays in the St Francis Parish Hall from 10:15 a.m.-approx 11:45 a.m. There will be a $15.00 fee for course materials. We are beginning our 6th year as a study group and we continue to grow and new members are always welcomed. You do not to be a bible expert, we all will learn together. LENTEN LITURGICAL MINISTER RETREAT & LUNCH Save the date for Saturday, March 17 for our “Lenten Liturgical Minister Retreat & Lunch.” The retreat will begin with our Saturday morning Prayer & Communion Service at 8:00 s.m. Please come join us at this wonderful prayer opportunity!

SECURITY SYSTEM A new security system is being installed at the church during the week of Feb. 19. Once installed, access will be from 6:00 a.m. until 8:30 p.m. If you currently have a key, please contact the office for further details.

PALM BRAIDING Save the date! There will be a Palm Braiding workshop on Palm Sunday, March 25 from 10:15-11:15 a.m. (after 9 a.m. Mass) and 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. (after 10:30 Mass) in the Parish Center. It will be open to teens and adults and children 10 and older accompanied by an adult. Class registration details will be coming soon. If you would be interested in helping to teach a small group after either Mass (you will be taught ahead of time!) please contact Martha at [email protected].

SOUP & STATIONS Please join us on Friday, March 16, for a meal of soup and bread followed by the Stations of the Cross led by the students of St. Francis de Sales Mary’s FIAT group. Lunch will begin at 11:45 a.m. Stations start at 12:30 p.m. A free will donation will be collected. All money collected will be given to St. Francis de Sales Human Concerns and Open Arms Free Clinic in Elkhorn. CATHOLIC DAUGHTER NEWS

Our Catholic Daughters meeting on Feb. 18 began with a prayer by Father Sergio followed by the Divine Mercy chaplet. We will be sponsoring the Walworth County men’s shelter on Feb. 26. Our next meeting will be March 19 beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the church with Mary’s Way of the Cross. It will be followed by soup supper in the parish center. We would love to have you join us. HILLTOPPER OUTSTANDING SCHOLARS On Feb. 22, Catholic Central High School had their first Annual Hilltopper Outstanding Scholars Breakfast. This breakfast celebrated Juniors and Seniors who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 4.00 or higher. Pictured below are graduates of St. Francis de Sales School.

SFDS FUN FAIR 3,2,1 BLAST OFF! St. Francis de Sales Preschool Program will be hosting our annual preschool fundraiser on Saturday, March 10 from 10:00 a.m.-1:00pm. It will be “Out of This World!” There will be outer space themed games, crafts, and snacks! Take the whole family for FREE! Enjoy tasty astronaut treats from the concession stand! Wonderful raffles will be available! All proceeds from the fair will benefit our Three Year-Old Kindergarten and Four Year-Old Kindergarten programs. DIRECTOR OF ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES ST. FRANCIS DE SALES AND ST. BENEDICT PARISH CLUSTER

The Director of Administrative Services serves as a lay ministerial staff resource in support of the pastor, fulfilling parish cluster administrative needs in finance, technology, facilities and grounds maintenance and human resources. Director of Administrative Services directs these efforts with technical and legal expertise within the framework of shared ministry in Christian and Catholic values. Responsibilities Maintains parish accounting records, provides monthly reports to pastor, principal, other directors and finance committee. Develops and implements a cash flow management system Prepares, administers and reviews the budget process in collaboration with the Pastor and Finance Committee Uses best practices in monitoring the collection, counting, recording, and depositing of parish revenue from all sources. Assists in the planning of financial stewardship and long range planning efforts. Directs the operation of the parish office. Schedules, supervises and evaluates the office and maintenance staff. Attends staff meetings, Building and Grounds meetings, Finance Committee meetings and Archdiocesan meetings where appropriate for training and development Administers payroll, salary and benefit policies as directed by Pastor and Personnel Committee. May serve on search committee and be involved in the interview process of parish personnel. Coordinates and prepares parish response to liability and legal concerns including workers compensation, in cooperation with appropriate Archdiocesan Offices. Negotiates contracts with suppliers and other firms. Coordinates efforts with Building and Grounds Committee. Schedules use of parish facilities and ensure all liability and maintenance needs are coordinated. Prepares, administers and communicates parish/school security policy in conjunction with principal. Understands the parish mission and administers parish business operations in relation to it. Understands Catholic social teaching and applies it in relation to parish policies and procedures. Participates in parish and Archdiocesan faith building programs and activities as directed by the Pastor. Active member of the St. Francis de Sales School Choice team overseeing fiscal expectations. All other duties assigned by the Pastor Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Practicing knowledge of accounting, record keeping and budgeting principles and practices. Knowledge of cash flow management. Knowledge of personnel policies and procedures including legal requirements Knowledge of work contracts and purchasing guidelines. Knowledge of current security and technology. Ability to communicate well to all stakeholders. Ability to supervise office and maintenance teams. Ability to represent the parish as a Lay Minister Ability to work collaboratively with Pastor, staff, co-workers, and volunteers. Education, Training College graduate or its equivalent. Major in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance preferred. Five to ten years experience in business or management preferred. Computer skills. Based on the book, 33 Days to Merciful Love, by Fr. Michael Gaitley, MIC, this 33 Days to Merciful Love Group Retreat focused upon the heart of St. Thérèse of Lisieux’s Little Way, uncovering the power of trust in the face of personal darkness, inspiring participants to become great saints amid ordinary circumstances, and laying the foundation for a personal consecration to Divine Mercy.
