ADORATION ADORACIÓN
Thursday / Jueves 9AM to 6PM
It seems so quick that summer is slipping by and the fall air is beginning to creep into the night with the coolness that give us the crisp mornings. When I walk over to the church early in the morning to make my holy hour, I am beginning to see the darkness of night last longer and longer.
We are called to be attentive to those around us, sharing the good news of Jesus Christ in love, compassion and mercy. This is a time of stewardship where for many of our school families they once more enter into a routine of life. Routines can be good but they can at times dull our senses to the movement around us as we move from one task to the next.
The Parish Council in continuing to look at how best to respond to the needs of the parish is seeking the most effective way to use the time, talent and treasure of each and every St. Lucy parishioner in feeding the desire to grow closer to God. (Continued on page 2...)

(Pastor’s Notes Continued form page 1)
The stewardship of our time, talent and treasure continually asks us to reassess and reevaluate how best we are called to serve God. This calls for change and growth in all areas of our life. We are continually challenged as your Parish Council, Fi-nance Council and staff to respond to the needs of our parish. In doing so we rely on the generosity and prayers of each person. We thank you for all that you do and give to St. Lucy. In a few weeks we will once more present to you our parish budget for this fiscal year. Our budget is never “routine” as the parish grows but the work we do is always filled with the surprise of God’s blessings as we serve his holy people.
God Bless, Fr. Mark

Third Sunday of the Month Food Collection/ Food Pantry Needs: We have had a lull in the amount of food we have been receiving from the Par-ish and we have had to purchase food to keep our pantry stocked. If each family in the Parish brought one item to donate we would be able to better meet the continuing demand for food from those who come to the Outreach Office. Non-perishable items that go in our food bags include: Peanut butter & jelly, pasta such as spaghetti, shells, noodles, hearty soups, canned fruits & vegetables, tuna fish, macaroni and cheese, cereal, rice and beans. Please check the expiration date on the food that you give us. We can-not give out food past the "Best Used By" date or if the package has been opened. Please “Check the Date before you Donate”.

Want the Keys to the Mystery of Love and Relationships?
Everyone has a driving desire to love and to be loved. So why do we seem to miss the mark so often? We invite you to join us in discovering the keys to the mystery of love and relationships! The Dominican cloistered nuns of Corpus Christi Monastery and guest Jim Brady will be unraveling this mystery in a five-session series based on the groundbreaking “Love and Responsibility” by Karol Wojtyla (Saint John Paul II). Some of the very practical, real-life relationship issues to be addressed include: What makes a true friendship? How does attraction lead to either selfless love or a relationship in which someone is being used? How do I know if I am in a relationship of authentic love or just another relationship doomed to failure? If everyone is made for spousal love, how is this desire recon-ciled with vocations to the priesthood, religious life or dedicated singlehood? …and more!
Every Second Saturday beginning in September | 9:15-11:30 a.m. (Mass available at 8 a.m.) September 9, 2017 | October, 14, 2017 | November 11, 2017 | December 9, 2017 | January 13, 2018
