I like Dr. Dobson’s respect for the rule of law, which all of us should have. The authori-ty which law possesses makes it all the more urgent that no law should ever sanction the destruction of innocent human life or make us pay for that destruction. Law itself is governed by a higher law, the law of justice and reasona-bility. The contraceptive / abortifacient man-date fails to meet the standards of reason and should therefore be struck from the law. Tenth Avenue North, one of the country’s top Christian bands, will be the featured artists at Exclaim 2014 — Toledo’s largest outdoor Christian music festival. PARISH MISSION STATEMENT Responding to the call of Jesus, St. Joan of Arc Parish is a Catholic Community, guided by the Holy Spirit,
striving to do God’s will. We encourage spiritual growth and invite full, active and conscious participation
of all generations through prayer, stewardship and fellowship.
UPDATE ON THE SJA CAMPUS RENEWAL PROJECT During late May and early June, St. Joan of Arc parishioners were asked for input on a Campus Renewal Proposed Plan for development and updates for our parish buildings and grounds. We are extremely thankful for the outstanding number of responses, and we are working with Aly Sterling Philanthropy (our capital campaign consultants as-sisting development of this project) to have the results of that feedback compiled, analyzed and presented. This feedback will help us deter-mine what improvements our parishioners will collectively support and what items from the proposal may need to be revised, deferred or dropped from our planning. We expect to receive the results of this feedback in early to mid-July, and we will then incorporate these sug-gestions into the proposed plan. We anticipate that the feedback will be very diverse, but we will look at all of the information with an eye toward accommodating what appears to be in the best interest of the parish. We expect this process to take 45-60 days, so by late summer we may have a firmer idea of where we may be heading. You can still review the proposed plan submitted on our parish website (www.joanofarc.org). This proposal was a compilation of multiple past studies, various meetings and input gathered over the past year, plus the input of Rohn & Associates Design, Inc. (a world-renowned designer of sacred spaces). This proposal was an effort to digest what the parish has been telling us for an extended period of time. Now with broader parishioner input, we are at a point of deter-mining our best path forward with this project. Thank you for your support, and we look forward to sharing our findings in the coming months through various means, likely to include informational meet-ings open to all parishioners to present what we have discerned from the feedback.
