As the end of summer quickly approaches we are preparing for another great school year. We are excited to have new and old families coming to join us again for the fall. This month we have a parent meeting on August 20 th at 6pm. The purpose of this meeting is to bring our families together and give you helpful information for the school year such as important dates, updated handbooks, and to connect with other families. We hope that you can join us for our Parent Meeting as it will be beneficial to attend. This month is full of field trips as the summer winds down. Please help our staff by remembering your five-point harness car seats the day of our field trips. Seasons are changing, and we need extra clothes for your child that includes clothes that reflect the fall season. From the KELC Teachers:

From the Classroom:

We can’t believe it is August already! July certainly flew by. In July the children loved learning about the

ocean and the animals that occupy it. They have enjoyed several trips to the park and Downtown Oberlin. Their

favorite was getting ice cream at Gibson’s. We also had a blast splashing at the Splash Pad in Amherst. Definitely

summer fun happening here at KELC.

We are also still continuing Veggie U. The children have planted more vegetables and are predicting when

they will sprout. They are under heat lamps by the Gazebo Garden in the Care Center if you would like to go see

them with your child.

During the month of August we will be talking about the Zoo in anticipation of our trip. The children are

really into learning about the animals and are even teaching us a few things as well, thanks to Wild Krats. We will

also be talking about the County Fair. We have a lot of fun activities planned for the Fair including a trip on August

25.

We are also getting ready for children to go off to school, and for all our new students that will be starting

here at Kendal. We look forward to meeting them all!

Sara, Karen, Mary, and Robin

Welcome

Sophie!
