INTRODUCTION :A brain drain or human capital flight is an

emigration of trained and talented individuals ("human capital") to other nations or jurisdictions.

Brain drain can occur either when individuals who study abroad and complete their education do not return to their home country, or when individuals educated in their home country emigrate for higher wages or better opportunities.

MAIN CHARACTERISTICS OF BRAIN DRAIN :-

There are numerous flows of skilled and trained persons from developing to developed countries.

In these flows engineers, medical personnel and scientists usually tend to predominate.

MAJOR PROBLEMS FACED BY INDIA DUE TO BRAIN DRAIN :-

A tremendous increase in wages of high-skill labors in India.

Problems for the public sector: A shortage of skilled and competent people in India.

Problems of governance : It decreases the per capita income or national income of country and many problems like altruistic; poverty, hungry, and unemployment.

PUSH FACTORS OF BRAIN DRAIN :- Under employment.

Economic under development.

Low wage/salary.

political instability.

Lack of freedom.

Discrimination in appointment and promotion.

Poor working facilities.

PULL FACTORS OF BRAIN DRAIN :- Better economic prospects.

Higher salary and income.

Better level of living and way of life.

Prestige of foreign training.

Intellectual freedom.

Presence of a rich, scientific and cultural tradition.

WHAT WE CAN DO ???

We need to take higher education more seriously. The conventional wisdom states that India has an excellent system of higher education.

Indians, especially the youth has to understand that today India is no less than any other country in the world.

We just need to little a search more and do a little hard work.

Yes to Reverse brain drain or known as “brain gain”.

attitudes. India has made drastic advancement in all spheres be it

science and technology, entertainment and employment. Youth should have to understand that there will be a

good future in India. The patriotism should not be lost to personal fervor. ONE DAY INDIA WILL BE THE GOLDEN BIRD OF

OUR DREAMS AGAIN.
