What is copyright?Copyright is a law that gives someone ownership over something they create, this can be various things such as poem/novel, photograph, a song, and even a painting etc. The creation is protected an example is when someone uses a song from an artist for a video that they upload to YouTube can be restricted as that is copyright, especially if the song has been illegally downloaded and not purchased. How are you going to use what you have learned about record labels and copyright in your production?I will give credit to the artist/writer of the song that I will use as if I do not this will lead into me copyrighting the song. This will also tell me what kind of record label my music video will most likely fall into, if I chose Beyonce I will most likely fall into Universal etc as they genre is based on R&B whereas Nicki Minaj would most likely fall into YME.
