What  is  social  networking?

They  work  by  people  going  onto  the  internet  on  a  device  and  logging  onto  their  desired  website  and  then  interac5ng  with  the  features  of  the  website.

It  can  also  be  accessed  by  people  text  messaging  and  sending  electronic  mail  (E-­‐mail)  to  people  via  satelites.

When  was  it  created?

In  1995,  Stewart  Brand  and  Larry  Brilliant  founded  a  company  called  WELL,  which  could  be  considered  as  the  first  social  networking  site.

Facebook  –  Est.  2002Twi?er  –  Est.  2006  etc.

How  does  it  make  life  easier?

These  new  ways  of  connec5ng  are  demonstrated  to  make  our  lives  easier  due  to  the  speed  of  it.

Social  Networking  is  a  way  of  connec5ng  with  friends  and  family  (oTen  for  free)  in  real  5me.

Before Networking?

People sent letters to people via the postage

system and telegrams which could often take

several days for one to receive it.
