God’s word is clear; All of us must be faithful to our call in life, whether it is married life, single life or celibacy for the sake of God’s reign. For me doing God’s will is two fold. First I am a wife and mother. I have heard God’s call. Second I do God’s will by visiting the sick, home bound, and elderly. I minister to them in the way Jesus would. I pray with them, give them Communion, and be a listening ear if need be. We must have Jesus in our hearts and souls at all times. Like Samuel who finally heard God’s word “Speak for your servant is listening.” I have listened and done his will. How about you? Have you listened to the Lord today?

La palabra de Dios es clara; Todos debemos ser fieles a nuestro llamado en la vida, ya sea la vida matrimonial, la vida soltera o el celibato por el bien del Reino de Dios. Mr. Rich Raplume, the Director of DePaul USA in St. Louis, will give an workshop about Vincentian spirituality in serv-ing the poor and welcoming the stranger among us. He has numerous experiences in serving the poor in St. Louis metro area for years. It will be held from 9 am to 12 pm at Mary’s Hall on Friday, 1/19/ 2018. Please call for register. All are welcome.

Thank you to all the ladies for all their hard work in praparing and selling tamales last weekend 12/7 after the 8am and 10:30am mas-ses. The tamales were delicious and enjoyed by all. Thank you to those who helped support the food sale.

The Parish Council Elections will take place at the 1/3, 1/4 Masses. Nominations for potential candidates can be made by any registered St. Anne parishioner who is at least 18 years old. The nomination process will take place during the 1/20, 21 Masses. To be an eligible nominee, the person must be a registered St. Anne pa-rishioner who is at least 18 years old. This year there will be 4 vacant positions that will be open and filled by a vote of active parishioners. If elected to the Council, each member will serve for a 3-year term, and should be committed to meet every other month to assist our Pastor in matters directly re-lated to the spiritual and physical well-being St. Anne Catholic Church. Come to the Spanish/English tax information workshop on 1/20/2018, at the Southwest Community Center, 6401 Baseline Rd., from 5-8 p.m. Child care will be provided. Topics include filing requirements and the types of free tax assistance available. For working families, there will be an opportunity to make ap-pointments for FREE tax preparation.
