All the preparations have been completed, and now, we start the new year. Many of us will make resolutions. We’ll try to come up with some way to radically change our lives and ourselves in the upcoming year. We know the common ones. I’m going to exercise more, or I’m going to change my diet—something along those lines. However, we also know how those resolutions go. They may not stick around as much as we’d like them to. The whole resolution getting broken trope is so common it makes its appearance in all sorts of mediacomics, movies, TV—you name it. In fact, I’m fairly certain that all of us have seen this in some form throughout the years. Regardless, we all like to think of New Year’s as a time to start over fresha time where it seems like any improvement can be made, and most importantly, a time to start with a clean slate. While we may make resolutions to improve our personal selves, I wonder what would happen if we made resolutions as far as it concerns the church as well: such as resolving to tithe a little more, or to be able to give just a bit more time, or even to visit one of the homebound members once a month. I know it can seem that we are stretched thin already, but how much more would we really have to sacrifice to make this happen? It is something I’ve always wondered. We make resolutions to better ourselves, but it seems like the spiritual side can get left out. Even if we pledge to do something like read the Bible before we go to bed, or even take a couple moments for meditation and prayer, we can strengthen our spiritual base and as well as that of the church. What I don’t want to happen is for anyone to take this as an indictment of them or their practices. This church is amazing. In the brief time I’ve spent here with you, it seems like we’re on the corner and getting ready to do some amazing things. There’s a lot of great energy and faithful people here. I’m expecting to experience great things with all of you t hroughout this coming year. I wonder though, what we might accomplish in the coming year if we can all pledge to do something for the church we may not have otherwise thought about. The potential is here; of that, I have no doubt. But if there is that little extra push, I wonder what amazing things we can accomplish. Blessings, Pastor Jeff

A Loving Church, Making a Difference in the World

Letter from the Pastor

Well we’ve made it through Christmas. All the preparations have been completed, and now,

we start the new year. Many of us will make resolutions. We’ll try to come up with some way to

radically change our lives and ourselves in the upcoming year. We know the common ones. I’m

going to exercise more, or I’m going to change my diet—something along those lines.

However, we also know how those resolutions go. They may not stick around as much as

we’d like them to. The whole resolution getting broken trope is so common it makes its appearance

in all sorts of media—comics, movies, TV—you name it. In fact, I’m fairly certain that all of us have

seen this in some form throughout the years.

Regardless, we all like to think of New Year’s as a time to start over fresh—a time where it

seems like any improvement can be made, and most importantly, a time to start with a clean slate.

While we may make resolutions to improve our personal selves, I wonder what would happen if we

made resolutions as far as it concerns the church as well: such as resolving to tithe a little more, or to

be able to give just a bit more time, or even to visit one of the homebound members once a month. I

know it can seem that we are stretched thin already, but how much more would we really have to

sacrifice to make this happen? It is something I’ve always wondered. We make resolutions to better

ourselves, but it seems like the spiritual side can get left out. Even if we pledge to do something like

read the Bible before we go to bed, or even take a couple moments for meditation and prayer, we can

strengthen our spiritual base and as well as that of the church.

What I don’t want to happen is for anyone to take this as an indictment of them or their

practices. This church is amazing. In the brief time I’ve spent here with you, it seems like we’re on

the corner and getting ready to do some amazing things. There’s a lot of great energy and faithful

people here. I’m expecting to experience great things with all of you throughout this coming year. I

wonder though, what we might accomplish in the coming year if we can all pledge to do something

for the church we may not have otherwise thought about. The potential is here; of that, I have no

doubt. But if there is that little extra push, I wonder what amazing things we can accomplish.

Blessings,

Pastor Jeff

January Extra Step – God Cares Ministry — God Cares Ministry was incorporated in 2010 in an effort to help veterans find employment. This organization assists those in need to find temporary shelter, food, clothing, mentoring and employer contacts so they can best present them-selves to prospective employers. Self-sufficiency is the goal and the ministry’s

motto is: “Helping Others, Help Themselves.” Veterans put careers on hold, families on hold, education on hold to perform this sacrifice for us. Unfortunately, in some cases, these veterans lost those things they were required to put on hold. God Cares is currently serving Missouri counties of Warren, Lincoln, Montgomery, St. Charles and Franklin. God Cares has no overhead so all donations go directly to helping individuals. Those who serve in this ministry are all volunteers. Visit them on the web: http://god-cares-ministry.org/

Donors just:

1. Visit redcrossblood.org/RapidPass

2. Read information

3. Answer questions

4. Print the pass or email it to themselves

Important!

Donors must complete the steps to redeem the pass on the day they

donate.

Donors who do not bring the printed pass or cannot show it on a mobile

device will be asked to complete the questions again.

Rapid Pass does not take the place of scheduling their appointment.

Please schedule appointments in the same way as has been done in the

past.
