A New Year begins sooner than you think… The first Sunday of Advent, November 29, begins a new Church year.
How will your household be spiritually preparing to celebrate the birth of Jesus, with the tide of commercialism
which is already sweeping over us? How will we be a people who wait in joyful hope for the coming of our Sav-
ior Jesus Christ at the end of time? Check out the following link for some ideas on observing Advent, on savoring
the waiting http://www.loyolapress.com/liturgical-year-advent.htm), and then on enjoying all the wonderful feasts of the 17
days of the Christmas season (http://www.loyolapress.com/liturgical-year-christmas.htm?class_id=14&parent_class_id=). Have
a blessed Advent – happy New Year!

Our Lord Jesus Christ King of the Universe
St. Pius V Catholic Church November 22, 2015
Dear Friends,
As we gather for Thanksgiving this week, let us remember
the words of the Preface of the Mass: “Our thanksgiving is
itself your gift, since our praises add nothing to your great-
ness but profit us for salvation through Christ our Lord.”
In the same Spirit, Chiara Lubich, Foundress of the Foco-
lare movement once wrote, "Let us give concretely to those
around us, knowing that by giving to them we are giving to
God. Let's give always; let's give a smile, let's offer under-
standing, and forgiveness. Let's listen, let's share our knowl-
edge, our availability; let's give our time, our talents, our
ideas, our work; let's give our experience, our skills; let's
share our goods with others so that we don't accumulate
things and everything circulates.
"Our giving opens the hands of God and He, in his provi-
dence, fills us with such an abundance that we can give
again, and give more, and then receive again, and in this
way we can meet the immense needs of many."
As Americans, we gather around the table on the last Thurs-
day in November to give thanks to God. As Catholics, we
gather around the Table of the Lord. As is St. Pius V tradi-
tion, we will celebrate Mass at 9:00AM Thanksgiving Day.
Put the turkey in to roast and come give thanks in the most
perfect way.
Fr. Joe
Queridos Hermanos,
gencia, nuestra disponibilidad, demos nuestro tiempo, nues-
Padre Joe

Find the Missal (Ordinary of the Mass) at 150 in Oramos Cantando/We Pray in Song
The Solemnity Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe
First Reading 1 Dn 7:13-14
As the visions during the night continued, I saw one like a Son of
man coming, on the clouds of heaven; when he reached the
Ancient One and was presented before him, the one like a Son of
man received dominion, glory, and kingship; all peoples, nations,
and languages serve him. His dominion is an everlasting
dominion that shall not be taken away, his kingship shall not be
destroyed. Responsorial
Psalm Ps 93 (OC#1005) R. The LORD is king; he is robed in
majesty.
Second Reading 2 Rv 1:5-8
Jesus Christ is the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead and
ruler of the kings of the earth. To him who loves us and has freed
us from our sins by his blood, who has made us into a kingdom,
priests for his God and Father, to him be glory and power forever
and ever. Amen. Behold, he is coming amid the clouds, and every
eye will see him, even those who pierced him. All the peoples of
the earth will lament him. Yes. Amen. "I am the Alpha and the
Omega, " says the Lord God, "the one who is and who was and
who is to come, the almighty
Gospel Jn 18:33b-37
Pilate said to Jesus, "Are you the King of the Jews?" Jesus
answered, "Do you say this on your own or have others told you
about me?" Pilate answered, "I am not a Jew, am I? Your own
nation and the chief priests handed you over to me. What have
you done?" Jesus answered, "My kingdom does not belong to this
world. If my kingdom did belong to this world, my attendants
would be fighting to keep me from being handed over to the
Jews. But as it is, my kingdom is not here." So Pilate said to him,
"Then you are a king?" Jesus answered, "You say I am a king.
For this I was born and for this I came into the world, to testify to
the truth. Everyone who belongs to the truth listens to my voice."

Solemnidad de Nuestro Señor Jesucristo, Rey del Universo
Primera lectura Dn 7, 13-14
Salmo Responsorial Salmo 92 R. (OC#1005El Señor reina,
vestido de majestad.
Segunda lectura Apoc 1, 5-8
Soy rey. Yo nací y vine al
mundo para ser testigo de la verdad. Todo el que es de la verdad,
escucha mi voz”.

Thanksgiving Day
Reading 1 Sir 50:22-24
And now, bless the God of all, who has done wondrous things on earth;
Who fosters people’s growth from their mother’s womb, and fashions them according to his will!
May he grant you joy of heart and may peace abide among you;
May his goodness toward us endure in Israel to deliver us in our days.
Responsorial Psalm (OC#1031) R. The earth has yielded its fruit, the Lord our God has blessed us.
Reading 2 1 Cor 1:3-9
Brothers and sisters: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
I give thanks to my God always on your account for the grace of God bestowed on you in Christ Jesus,
that in him you were enriched in every way, with all discourse and all knowledge, as the testimony to Christ was confirmed among
you, so that you are not lacking in any spiritual gift as you wait for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ. He will keep you firm to the
end, irreproachable on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is faithful, and by him you were called to fellowship with his Son, Jesus
Christ our Lord.
Gospel Lk 17:11-19
As Jesus continued his journey to Jerusalem, he traveled through Samaria and Galilee.
As he was entering a village, ten persons with leprosy met him. They stood at a distance from him and raised their voices, saying,
“Jesus, Master! Have pity on us!” And when he saw them, he said,
“Go show yourselves to the priests.” As they were going they were cleansed. And one of them, realizing he had been healed, returned,
glorifying God in a loud voice; and he fell at the feet of Jesus and thanked him. He was a Samaritan. Jesus said in reply, “Ten were
cleansed, were they not? Where are the other nine? Has none but this foreigner returned to give thanks to God?” Then he said to him,
“Stand up and go; your faith has saved you.”

Día de Acción de Gracias
Primera lectura Sir 50, 24-26
