Dear Sisters and Brothers, Most Holy Trinity. Happy Fathers’ Day!!! On this day of the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity, we also celebrate and ac- knowledge all fathers and wish them a blessed and happy day. To celebrate the mystery of the Trinity is to celebrate the bond of love of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. So to all fathers who have loved and sacrificed and continue to do same for their children and grandchildren, etc, we say thank you.

We all know that, as of now, Fathers’ Day celebration still has some catching up to do compared to that of mothers. And who knows, it probably will never match it, and some might say for good reasons! Of course, that is not in anyway to dis- count the role of fathers in the lives of their children. One way to think of it might be this: just as men and women are different in a variety of ways, so also marking mothers’ and fathers’ days will be, I think. Once again, happy fathers’ day to all fathers. May we always show love to our fathers and father-figures in our lives.

    Summer is Here!!!

I know the calendar does not say it yet, but unofficially summer is here, and has been for sometime now. Folks often ask me about plans for the summer – vaca- tion may be? Well, no! Some folks have to stay back during the summer and keep things running. So, as you go and come during the summer months, have fun and be safe.

But as you go, remember, don’t go alone. Go with God, spend time with the Trinity. The universality of our catholic faith means that, a place for mass or any other sacrament is easily located on your ubiquitous smart phone. And you will never be a stranger in any catholic church, even if the celebration is in a language you do not understand. As a visitor, you will get a warm welcome.

Finally, during the summer months, JEA for whatever reasons continues to send utility bills. YIKES!!! I wish they would stop, but no luck yet. As always, thank you for your unrelenting stewardship in more ways than one to our parishes.

    Have a blessed week everyone!

    Fr. Bernardine

DID YOU KNOW OUR FAITH? Trinity Sunday celebrates a central dogma of the faith: that there is one God with three distinct persons. Each of the three persons is distinctly divine. ‘It is the Fa- ther who generates, the Son who is begotten, and the Holy Spirit who proceeds.’ Lateran Council IV: DS 804 as quoted in CCC # 253-254.

JUNETEENTH HISTORY FACTS • Juneteenth also known as Freedom Day and Emancipation Day, is a holiday or observance in many US states to celebrate the anniversary of the abolition of slavery in Texas on June 19, 1865, which freed the last 250,000 slaves in Galveston Texas.

    • The word “Juneteenth” resulted from the words “June Nine- teenth” being slurred together in speech.

    • Juneteenth is the oldest celebration that commemorates the end of slavery in the United States.

    • In Texas and some other southern states, the traditional drink on Juneteenth is Big Red soda.

    • There is a Juneteenth Flag of Freedom. It is half red and half blue with a star in the middle.
