Prayer for an End to Infanticide: The U.S. Senate recently failed to pass the Born-Alive Survivors Protection Act—legislation that prohibits infanticide by ensuring that a child born alive following an attempted abortion would receive the same degree of care to preserve her or his life and health as would be given to any other child born alive at the same gestational age. Please join us in payer for an end to infanticide: “Jesus, Lord of Life, transform the hearts of our elected leaders to recognize that infanticide is wrong and must not be tolerated. We especially pray for our Senators Corey Booker and Bob Menendez. Open their hearts and minds to recognize and defend the precious gift of every human life.” Catholic Charities Clothing Boxes: Donate Your Old Clothes: Now that we are starting to go through our old spring/summer clothing and putting away fall/winter clothing, please consider donating some of your old or used clothing to Catholic Charities. Your donated clothes raise money to fund our Catholic Charities poverty relief services throughout the Diocese. For your convenience there is a clothing drop-off bin located behind the church.

Seeds, seeds Jesus talks of seeds in the gospel today. This year seeds

have a special meaning. Many people with being home because of

the corona virus became gardeners. The greenhouses and garden

centers had a bang up business; they sold out early in the season. This

was because the weather was good and people were home and

wanted to do something.

Some of the seeds we planted have come up and started to grow and

mature. Others have followed the sun but just died out. Others have

not germinated and have not produced anything. We have treated

them all the same but they did not respond to our attention.

We can be the same way since we have all received the same grace at

our baptism but don’t respond to it in the same way. We are taught to

practice the golden rule but do we? We are asked to obey the

teaching of Jesus Christ. We receive the Eucharist as food for our

souls. It nourishes us like fertilizer to have the seed of faith nourish in

us. We are all seeds and we need to come back to be present in

church. Yes, we need to come back and be present to receive the

Eucharist. We need to practice social distancing when we are here

and to wear masks. In reality we are here to worship as a community

of faith and be prescience to each other through the practice of our

faith.

God bless, Fr. Rich
