To decrease the fear for crime and to secure safety from poor surrounding, Seoul Hongeun
1-dong safe village making design consulting provided many things covering from naming
Hobakgol(pumpkin village) which is the new brand name to solution which can solve
transportation through workshop with villagers, villager’s reception room.
To protect vulnerable social group, to expand village community, to build the infrastructure
of villager-centered safety village, we implemented community participation program along
with external change such as improving aged facility, installing safety facility.

‘Sleepless knowledge forest’The crime prevention design consulting for Yangjae
Citizen’s Forest provided the space to read and to
have meeting by actualizing the characteristics of
Park which we can speculate silently.

‘Seoul crime prevention vaccine design project’
intended to protect vulnerable social group and
enhance the quality of citizen through prevent-
ing crime by design.
Based on existing CPTED(crime prevention by
environment design), it adopted service design
methodology, analyzed the needs of citizens
and students who are the principle agent, ob-
tained insight through the participation of ex-
perts of various fields and villagers.
This project which is named as Sogeum gil(salt
road(area)) and Dream-up(school), represented
the policy direction of other public design for
crime prevention and received fervent response
by being announced through ‘Seoul interna-
tional crime prevention design seminar’ where
domestic and international famous experts par-
ticipated in November. 2012.
