EASTER SUNDAY OF THE RESURRECTION OF THE LORD

First Reading: Acts 10:34a, 37‑43 In this passage, Peter testifies that he and his followers saw the miracles performed by Christ, witnessed His death, and believe in His resurrection. Now they will pro-claim to all that Christ is the Son of God. Second Reading: Colossians 3:1‑4 Paul tells the Colossians that they will appear with Christ in glory. They should be mindful of things above rather than things on earth. Gospel: John 20:1‑9 In vivid detail, John tells us that when Mary Magdalene visited Christ’s tomb, the tomb was empty. She told the apostles, who ran to the tomb, and saw the “wrappings” on the ground. The disciple who entered first “saw and believed.”

ELECTRONIC GIVING What do I have to do to set this up? Many of you al-ready pay your bills electronically – this is no different. Contact your banking institution to set this up. The bank will send your parish a check for the amount you have indicated on the day you have selected. Some people do this weekly, others monthly. But I won’t have anything to put in the collection bas-ket. There is a box to check off on each envelope that reads “I gave electronically”. You can use this to place in the collection if you choose. What benefit is there to electronic giving? Giving elec-tronically on a set schedule not only makes it easier for you, it also assists the parishes when planning budgets. The budget packet will also be a budget aid to you, letting you know in advance when there is a special second col-lection for the parish or a Diocesan or National collection.

ST. THERESA MEMORIALTREE Often a family will inquire what they need to do

to have the name of a loved one added to the Memorial Tree located at the back of the church by the Confessional.

Our Memorial Tree was “planted” in 2003, when St. Theresa began the expansion and

remodel of our church. We are blessed with such a beau-tiful church because of the generosity and sacrifice of so many parishioners. Anyone who donated $1,500 or more could add a leaf to the tree. If you would like to add a leaf to our tree, please call Cindy at the office at 401-624-8746 for more information.

PARISH CENSUS ST. THERESA AND ST. CHRISTOPHER

PARISHES CENSUS UPDATE, St. Theresa: Aug. 2015: We started with 1,490 census forms needing to be updated. Jan. 2016: 672 census forms were mailed out, as part of Phase III. Mar. 2017: There are still 546 families who have not re-sponded. Are you one of the 546? St. Christopher: Aug. 2015: We started with 661 census forms needing to be updated. Dec. 2016: Census update completed. There are still 243 families who have not responded.

As you can imagine, this has been a long and expensive process so we ask everyone’s cooperation. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT EACH FAMILY RE-SPOND. Do not assume that “they know who I am” or “I’m there most Sundays”.

If we do not hear from you, we will assume that you have moved or no longer consider yourself to be members of St. Theresa or St. Christopher Parish. We will remove you from the parish census and further mail-ings. However, we will always keep your parish and sac-ramental records and they will always be available to you.

CDS and PAMPHLETS NOW AVAILABLE April CD

“The Treasure of the Soul – The Apostles Creed” Dr. Scott Hahn, internationally known theologian and author, explains the inestimable value of the Creed as a sure means of communicating the life giving faith of the Apostles and as an indispensable source of unity for the Church. Dr. Hahn also brings to light how the Creed has served as a time-tested wellspring of meditation by which a believer can deepen his or her relationship with Christ, making it, in the words of St. Ambrose, “the treasure of our soul.”.

The CD’s along with other informational pam-phlets and prayer cards can be found in the stand at the back of each church. A good will offering would be ap-preciated BUT NOT NECESSARY. If after you have enjoyed the CD and don’t want to keep it, please pass it on or return it to the CD holder for someone else’s use.
