THE MOST HOLY BODY AND BLOOD OF CHRIST (CORPUS CHRISTI)

First Reading: Deuteronomy 8:2‑3, 14b‑16a Moses reminds the Israelites that when they were starving in the desert, the Lord fed them with “manna” ‑‑ a food not known to them. Second Reading: 1 Corinthians 10:16‑17 Paul points out to the Corinthians that through the sharing of the cup and the breaking of the bread, they are all one in Christ Jesus. Gospel: John 6:51‑58 After Jesus feeds the five thousand people with barley loaves and fishes, he tries to make them understand the significance and the meaning of what he has done. He tells them, in mysterious and beautiful words, that the bread he gives is his flesh and says, “I myself am the liv-ing bread... If anyone eats this bread, he shall live for-ever.”

ELECTRONIC GIVING ELECTRONIC GIVING

What do I have to do to set this up? Many of you al-ready pay your bills electronically – this is no different. Contact your banking institution to set this up. The bank will send your parish a check for the amount you have indicated on the day you have selected. Some people do this weekly, others monthly. But I won’t have anything to put in the collection bas-ket. There is a box to check off on each envelope that reads “I gave electronically”. You can use this to place in the collection if you choose. What benefit is there to electronic giving? Giving elec-tronically on a set schedule not only makes it easier for you, it also assists the parishes when planning budgets. The budget packet will also be a budget aid to you, letting you know in advance when there is a special second col-lection for the parish or a Diocesan or National collection.

ST. THERESA MEMORIALTREE Often a family will inquire what they need to do

to have the name of a loved one added to the Memorial Tree located at the back of the church by the Confessional.

Our Memorial Tree was “planted” in 2003, when St. Theresa began the expansion and

remodel of our church. We are blessed with such a beau-tiful church because of the generosity and sacrifice of so many parishioners. Anyone who donated $1,500 or more could add a leaf to the tree. If you would like to add a leaf to our tree, please call Cindy at the office at 401-624-8746 for more information.

FORMED.ORG We are now in Ordinary Time, the longest period in the Liturgical Calendar. This period continues until Advent. An excellent way to keep up with the scriptural readings during this time, is to go to Formed.org. If you are already registered, go to "Study", "Faith Formation" and open "Opening the Word, Weeks 20-21". There is also another section to continue with weeks 22-34. Bring these scrip-tures alive. If you have not yet setup your login, go to "FORMED" https://formed.org, register by inserting our Parish code (7CB33C), enter your email and establish your own password and proceed as above. This practice will provide you with the experience of a greater under-standing of scripture than ever before.

WEBSITE AND CALENDAR

Why I Left Planned Parenthood, From Death to Life Abby Johnson is a widely recognized Catholic

speaker who was once the director of one of Planned Parenthood’s largest clinics, where she came face to face with the reality of abortion. She shares an insider’s per-spective about the true motivations of the abortion indus-try, and her courageous journey away from it and towards life.
