Projected Mass Scenarios and the Mass count Sheets will be made available at the back of the church Toward Our New Parish The Steering Committee for the amalgamation of Caboolture and Stanley River Parishes, for our movement into one new parish, met the week before last on 8th August. Our discussion covered a number of important areas: first, the need for consultation on pastoral issues that will arise with the creation of a new parish (including dates of times for these consultations), and particularly around the change of Sunday Mass times; second, the processes that need to be put in place between now and the end of the year for formation of one new Parish Council and one Finance Council (more of this in the weeks to come); third, and significantly, the formation of a prayer that we can all pray together at our Sunday Masses in preparation for the creation of our new parish; and, fourth, the naming of our new parish. The Consultation Times for our communities are as follows: 24th August – St Peters Caboolture 7pm 25th August – St Marys Woodford 9am or 1st September – St Michaels Kilcoy 9am 5th September – Beachmere Community After the Anointing Mass (7pm) Please note change of date 8th September – Little Flower, Bribie Is. 9.30am 8th September – St Peters Caboolture 11am 15th September – St Peters Caboolture 8am This weekend there is, as you see, three proposed scenarios for the change in Sunday Mass times. They are all proposals, offered to all parishioners to ponder which might provide the best fitfor the pastoral needs of our various communities, and the ability of two priests to attend to the schedule of masses. This does not preclude the use of Supply priests for our Sunday masses. However, the schedule of masses needs to be able to be accomplished by two priests. As we amalgamate our two parishes, we will be forming one new parish entity, as proposed, from January 1st 2020. This parish will need a new name. While the various names of our Churches will remain: St Michael s, Little Flower, St Marys, and St Peters; we will require a new whole of parish name. The Committee is asking for suggestions and submissions from parishioners for this new parish name. This is a very important issue, as our new parish name will identify us as a particular section of Gods people within the Catholic Archdiocese of Brisbane. If you would like to submit a proposal for our new name, please send this to Caboolture Parish Office at [email protected] After the Committees discernment the proposed name will be presented to Archbishop Mark for approval. The following is our prayer in preparation for our amalgamation, which will be included into our Sunday Prayers of the Faithful. May it bring Gods graceful blessings on us all as we venture into our future. We pray. That with a profound openness to the Spirit, courage, humility and wisdom, we form a new parish unity formed for Gods mission. Blessings, Fr David

Twenty-First Sunday In Ordinary Time 24th / 25th August 2019

Because of the demands of the newsletter last weekend we decided to duplicate the front page for the benefit of those who

missed it. Projected Mass Scenarios and the Mass count Sheets will be made available at the back of the church

Toward Our New Parish

The Steering Committee for the amalgamation of Caboolture and Stanley River Parishes, for our movement into one new

parish, met the week before last on 8th August. Our discussion covered a number of important areas: first, the need for

consultation on pastoral issues that will arise with the creation of a new parish (including dates of times for these

consultations), and particularly around the change of Sunday Mass times; second, the processes that need to be put in place

between now and the end of the year for formation of one new Parish Council and one Finance Council (more of this in the

weeks to come); third, and significantly, the formation of a prayer that we can all pray together at our Sunday Masses in

preparation for the creation of our new parish; and, fourth, the naming of our new parish.

The Consultation Times for our communities are as follows:

24th August – St Peter’s Caboolture 7pm

25th August – St Mary’s Woodford 9am or 1st September – St Michael’s Kilcoy 9am

5th September – Beachmere Community After the Anointing Mass (7pm) Please note change of date

8th September – Little Flower, Bribie Is. 9.30am

8th September – St Peter’s Caboolture 11am

15th September – St Peter’s Caboolture 8am

This weekend there is, as you see, three proposed scenarios for the change in Sunday Mass times. They are all proposals,

offered to all parishioners to ponder which might provide the best “fit” for the pastoral needs of our various communities, and

the ability of two priests to attend to the schedule of masses. This does not preclude the use of Supply priests for our Sunday

masses. However, the schedule of masses needs to be able to be accomplished by two priests. As we amalgamate our two

parishes, we will be forming one new parish entity, as proposed, from January 1st 2020. This parish will need a new name.

While the various names of our Churches will remain: St Michael’s, Little Flower, St Mary’s, and St Peter’s; we will require a

new whole of parish name. The Committee is asking for suggestions and submissions from parishioners for this new parish

name. This is a very important issue, as our new parish name will identify us as a particular section of God’s people within the

Catholic Archdiocese of Brisbane. If you would like to submit a proposal for our new name, please send this to Caboolture

Parish Office at [email protected]

After the Committee’s discernment the proposed name will be presented to Archbishop Mark for approval.

The following is our prayer in preparation for our amalgamation, which will be included into our Sunday Prayers of the

Faithful. May it bring God’s graceful blessings on us all as we venture into our future.

We pray. That with a profound openness to the Spirit, courage, humility and wisdom, we form a new parish unity formed

for God’s mission. Blessings, Fr David

Planned Giving Envelopes For those who are in our Planned Giving Program, please pick up your envelopes from the rear of the church as the new set begins next weekend. If you are a part of our Direct Debit Scheme you will find

Children’s Liturgy of the Word

The St Peter’s Community is extremely grateful to Cheryl and her team of Catechists who have provided Children's Liturgy over a number of years. They have offered our children time and space to develop their

faith as children. However due to a number of catechist's no longer being able to minister in this way

we aren't able to offer this special ministry to our young people. In the future if we able to obtain more

catechists we may able to reinstate this ministry. Thanks again to Cheryl and the team for their services.

Change to Weekday Mass Times at Caboolture Please note there will be NO Weekday Mass on Fri 6th Sept at St Columban’s or on Mon 9th Sept at St Peter’s.

Archdiocesan Prevention and Protection Policy

people and vulnerable adults are a gift from God with an

intrinsic right to dignity of life, respect and security from

physical and emotional harm. They are to be treasured,

nurtured and safeguarded by all.

“Take This All Of You And Drink From It”

The practice of Intinction is not adopted across our Parish

but rather we encourage you to ‘receive’ from the cup

in unity with your fellow Parishioners.

Yes, God maybe calling you—but probably not on your mobile! Please remember to switch your phone off or onto silent

before Mass begins; it can be very distracting to those around you.
