Second in the Personal Branding series, this one starts where the previous one left off, focusing on the online side of branding. The workshop starts off by inviting everybody to google their names and look at what comes up. Is whatever came up about them good? Is it what they want to come up? More importantly (relating to personal branding form last workshop here), is it what they want people to *perceive* of them? The workshop starts by getting attendees to create a Google Public Profile (on plus.google.com), and utilize their passion (which they 'discovered' in the last workshop) to customize their profile and stand out. When searched on Google, the Google Public Profile shows up on the first hits page. Workshop attendees then looked briefly at social media, and moved on to completing the workshop by creating a website or blog. Attendees who were passionate about their online presence used Wordpress (www.wordpress.com) to create a quick and customizable website with integrated blog, whereas those interested in just blogging created a Tumblr (www.tumblr.com) blog.
