Easter Greetings! Did you know our parish has a cemetery? I will not judge if you say, “No” as that is most often the answer I receive. St. Bernard’s Cemetery is located on a small but serene plot of land on Oak St. in Youngstown. While we are called to visit and pray for our beloved departed on All Souls Day, visiting is cemetery in November is often difficult. What better way to honor and pray for the dead than on Memorial Day in which we especially remember those who paid the ultimate sacrifice in the Armed Forces. In the Order of Visiting a Cemetery it says, “My dear friends, we gather today to pray for our brothers and sisters whose bodies lie here in rest…[and] we pray that God may welcome them among all the saints in heaven.” So bring your friends and family, a chair or a blanket, and spread out outdoors as unite in prayer for our beloved departed on Monday, May 31 at 9:00am. A special thank you to the VFW Post 313 who will be joining us for a flag ceremony. *Please note, there will not be a 7:45am Mass at our St. Peter site that day. As you may have seen, work on the rectory has finally begun. The first major step is power washing off all the paint, then will begin the repair process to the stucco and woodwork, and finally, a fresh layer of protective paint. Thank you for your generosity to the Capital Campaign that made this work possible. Speaking of maintenance, repair work to our school roof is continuing. All the flashing around the edges is being replaced and tears repaired and resealed. Thankfully, the entire roof does not need replacing at this time. At our St. Bernard site, a special thanks to Boy Scout Troop 824 in Sanborn for tearing down our old shed and replacing it with a brand new one. In St. Bernard’s Church, four stained-glass windows have now been repaired, five more remain to be restored to ensure their longevity. Just like at home, our maintenance lists are always long, but we continue to chip away at them one project at a time! Christ is Risen! He is Risen, Indeed! Fr. Cole

The Respect Life Committee will be collecting baby items for Summit Life Outreach Center in Niagara Falls during the month of May. Items may be dropped off in the pack n plays at both churches. Items in need include: diapers size 4, 5, 6; baby hooded towels; Enfamil formula; and baby hygiene supplies. To read more about the wonderful work being done at Summit Life Outreach,
please visit www.summitlifecenter.com. Thank you for your support! "The answer to a crisis pregnancy is to eliminate the crisis, not the child." -Jeannie French
Come on in! With more people coming back to Mass on the weekend (which is a wonderful thing to see) we need to be aware of our space restrictions due to the Covid19 pandemic. Many times, at both worship sites, one person sits at one end of a pew and another person sits at the other end, leaving the middle unused which could fit additional people safely. Please take a moment to look around and be considerate of our fellow parishioners and friends looking for somewhere to sit. Either move to the center of the pew or step out so they can go into the middle of the pew and then you can sit back on the end. We are a welcoming community of believers! Let us live out our faith in everything we say and do! All Are Welcome!!
There will be Eucharistic Adoration on June 4th following School Mass
*Family hour is from 6pm to 7pm * Adoration will conclude with Benediction at 8pm
All are invited to come and pray. For more information, please contact

Inviting all Homeschoolers! Have you been looking for other families in the area that
homeschool? Are your kids interested in finding other homeschooling kids to so-
cialize with? Would your kids like to have clubs to participate in? Are you thinking about homeschooling, but don't know where to
start?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, call Donna Seaman at 545-2294 or email donnamseaman@gmail.com. Our St Peter parish has a small group of homeschooling kids that meets regularly. We are interested in building a local community and would like to extend an invitation to other homeschooling families to join. For those considering homeschooling, we are available to answer questions.
A special visitor came to St. Peter’s on Tuesday, May 18th. The students and staff were happy to meet and welcome Wally the Westie! Wally is a trained support canine, and he is excellent with children and people. His dog life goals are simply to love and be loved! He looks forward to spending more time at St. Peter’s in the future!
Student progress reports for the last trimester of this school year were distributed last week. Keep up the great efforts everyone so we finish this school year with super success! Hope Ribbon Day for the 8th grade will be on Thursday, May 27th. This annual tradition of pinning ribbons reminds students to look towards their future with hope and ask the Blessed Mother to bless them on their journey. We also recognize this day as Moving Upward and Onward for our 7th graders. A celebration luncheon at the Youngstown Yacht Club will follow the 9:00 AM Mass. Exciting News! APEX is coming again this year to St. Peter’s beginning June 1st. All students at St. Peter’s will have the opportunity to sharpen their leadership skills through APEX activities during the week. This is a full participation fundraising event. All measures will be in place following COVID safety guidelines so students can safely participate. What a win-win for St. Peter’s! Our students having fun and learning, while raising money for our school! *No school Friday, May 28th and Monday, May 31st for the Memorial Day holiday.
St. Peter, intercede for us! Blessed Mother, we ask you to wrap
your mantle of Mercy around us!
Wally the Westie!
