NINETEENTH-CENTURY FRENCH STUDIES is a publication for studies of French litera
ture of the period from a philosophical, psychological, sociological, anthropological, cultural,
historical, or other critical standpoint. Scholarly articles on all aspects of nineteenth-century French literature and criticism are invited.
Manuscripts and hook reviews intended for publication must he accompanied by a return
envelope and sufficient postage (stamps or international reply coupons). MSS should he
written according to the specifications of the MI-A Handbook. Articles should he typed with
DOUBLE SPACING throughout, including footnotes or endnotes and quotations of prose or
verse. Footnotes are to appear on separate sheets at the end of the article.
NINETEENTH-CENTURY FRENCH STUDIES is published in two double issues, fall
