Well what a holiday period was had by the town of Clermont. A lot of sad goodbyes at the end of last year with some of our teachers heading off to better (or worse?) pastures. We will sorely miss them especially sensei Kiori Waerra (sorry about the spelling), Miss D, Mr Josh Grant and more. I wish them all the best on their chosen paths. We will soon be welcoming another rowdy bunch of teachers and students alike to our schools with hopefully not too many families leaving town.

On the crime front a few thefts over the holidays especially of parcels and the like. Make sure you secure these as soon as possible when they are received and don’t leave them on the front lawn or doorstep. Just like the wheelie bins, they won’t bring themselves inside.

Traffic crashes, were very light on in the holiday period and ticket numbers were down. We are collectively seeing a real reduction in the traffic everywhere around. Speeds have tapered off to, with not too many idiotic travellers detected.

Good to see our drink driving numbers down as well as assaults, public disorder and more all down across the board. With the small amount of rain just had it is still astounding to see everyone jump in their cars and feed it around the corners in the wet - very childish.

An alarming increase in the number of domestics had, which is normal over the festive period. The old saying is we bottle

it up all year to let fly at Christmas time when we get all the relations together. Drink apparently reminds us of why we don’t like them in the first place! But on a serious note, The Not Now, Not Ever campaign by the Queensland Government is targeting Domestic Violence. If you know of someone in need just ring up and tell somebody, don’t keep it to yourself. Crime Stoppers 1800 333 000 or police link 131444.

Mental Health is another big issue in the bush. People in the bush are suffering and can everyone please lookout for their mates. The RUOK campaign highlights the need for us to ask each other are you OK and if not what can we do about it. Seldom is the answer to have a session and drown our sorrows, alcohol is a depressant, we need something to lift our spirits. If you do see someone in need, lend a hand or call somebody to assist like Lifeline etc. In the worst cases Ambulance or Police are allowed to be called. But a heads up, blokes if you have really stuffed up and wife is real crook at you do not tell her to call someone who cares, don’t try to fix things, JUST LISTEN!

Look it was a great holiday period and I hope everyone has returned safe and well to our town ready for the New Year. If I don’t see you before next year, hope this one is a great one for everyone.

Regards the Sarge.

CLASS DESCRIPTIONGut and Butt Blastis a target class that focuses on strengthening and toning the nine core divisions of the abdominal plane. While simultaneously blasting the three muscles of the buttocks, hamstrings and quadriceps. This will increase fat metabolism at rest and help slim and tone those problematic areas. Although not targeted, general whole

body conditioning applies and while challenging, is more than suitable for any fitness level.

Boot campBoot camp is a type of outdoor group class that mixes your traditional calisthenic and body weight exercise with interval and strength training. Our boot camp incorporates; tyre flipping and throwing, battle rope work, kettlebell, fence climbing and much more! It is a work at your own pace class, designed to be challenging whilst also having fun!

Circuit trainingThis is a form of body conditioning or resistance training using high-intensity/low-intensity aerobic energy.

It targets strength building and muscular endurance. An exercise ‘circuit’ is one completion of all prescribed exercises in the program. It is highly enjoyable and recommended to all levels of fitness.

Lets lift circuitResistance Circuit works on the principle of Circuit Training with stations broken down into a lower and upper body weights workout, using the subscription of low weights high repetition to develop a challenging total body workout, ensuring lean muscle mass gains.
