Thursday Enrichment Program

Thursday Morning Enrichment takes place every week at 10AM in the Community Center. It is a chance to join with others in our St. Thomas family and support each other in growing in our faith.

Corned Beef and Cabbage Dinner

The Knights of Columbus is holding their annual St. Patrick's Day Corned Beef Dinner on Saturday evening, March 17th, from 5:30 to 9:00ish, with dinner being served at 6:30 PM. Tickets are only $10 for adults and $7 for children (5-11 yrs). Tickets can be purchased at Brigg's Firestone, Marcozzi's Jewelers, St.Thomas School Office, between Masses, and at the door (if not sold out). If you have any questions, call Chris Martin at 370-6409 or Greg Bates at 353-9798.

FOOD DRIVE.

We will once again start collecting non-perishable food items for The Salvation Army’s pantry here in Oroville. We will start the first weekend in March and go thru the month of April. Since this is a time for fasting, praying, and alms giving, here is a way to give to the hungry in our community. Thank you for your generosity and may God bless you and yours during this time of reflection.

Our parish family is blessed that you have answered “the Call” to serve in your respective ministries. May God continue to bless you in your service to our parish.

Stations with the School

During Lent St. Thomas School will be having Stations of

the Cross every Monday, except March 5th. Stations will

begin at 10:30am in the Church. Please join us.

Whole Person Share and Prepare Workshop

This workshop is for caregivers, family members, bereavement ministers, Eucharistic ministers, ministers to the sick and elderly and catechists of our Church community. Sponsored by the Diocese of Sacramento Office of Catholic Charities and Social Concerns, topics include Church teaching, moral and bioethical issues, accessing quality palliative care, hospice care, Living Will (Health Care Directive), Durable Power of Attorney for Health Care and how to provide emotional and spiritual support for loved ones who are terminally ill. Oroville Hunger Walk

Saturday, March 17th is the date for this annual event sponsored by the Cooperating Christian Churches of Oroville to raise awareness and funds to help feed the hungry. 100% of the funds raised will be equally shared by the Oroville Rescue Mission, Feed the People Ministries, the Salvation Army and the Hope Center. Meet at Riverbend Park at 8:30 am, sign up at the registration table, the walk begins at 9:00 am following a course through downtown Oroville and returning to the park. If you can't walk that far, no worry, do what you can. Coffee and water will be available. Sponsorship forms and receipts for your sponsors are available in our parish office. If you would like to make a donation to support this event, please make your check payable to the Cooperating Christian Churches of Oroville "CCCO" and mail it to P. O. 29th Annual Caring for Women All You Can Eat Omelet

Breakfast

The breakfast will be held at the Oroville Evangelical Free Church on Saturday, March 3rd from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Breakfast includes a ham & cheese omelet, hash browns, biscuits, and a drink. Children have their choice of an omelet or pancakes Tickets can be purchased in advance at Caring for Women, 2362 Lincoln Street, at the door or in our parish office which is open Tuesday-Friday from 9:00 to 12:00 Noon. Save a dollar by purchasing tickets in advance! For more information call 533-8388. All proceeds help women and children in our area. HELP NEEDED: Omelet Breakfast and Walk for Life 2018

Help is needed for both of these fund-raisers, the success of which help pay the rent and keep the doors to the Center open. This year's Walk for Life is on May 5th. There are many opportunities to work at both events, call the center 533-8388 if you have time to donate for one or both.

Soup and Stations

Every Friday during Lent, there will be Soup and Stations of the Cross. Soup will be serve at 6:00 pm and the Stations of the Cross will be at 6:45. The Parish Lenten Penance Service will be on March 14, 2018 at 6:30 pm.

Coffee Hour

Coffee Hour is held in Fitzgerald Hall on Sundays follow-ing the 8:15 AM mass. This week is hosted by the Altar So-ciety.

Notre Dame School Hiring

Notre Dame School in Chico is seeking a 3rd grade teacher for the 2018-19 school year. Applicants must be highly qualified with the ability to work as a part of a team that maintains a commitment to excellence. Notre Dame Teachers are responsible for providing students with a first class learning experience that maximizes their intellectual, social, emotional, and physical development. Candidate should be a practicing Roman Catholic in good standing and hold a current CA teaching credential (multiple or single subject will be considered depending on placement.) He or she must also be able to demonstrate competency in all areas of content responsibility including computer literacy, standardized testing and interpreting data.
