Have a blessed Easter! EASTER SUNDAY Christ is Risen as He said, alleluia, alleluia! Today, the greatest Christian celebration of the year, we give thanks to God for the victory of Jesus over sin and death itself. No matter how difficult our times may be or how challenging, we have hope because of the victory Jesus won for the world. The gates of heaven opened wide and we have found a way out of the grave! May Easter joy be yours and may you bring that joy to those in need of light on the journey from time to eternity. Let us be witnesses to the grace and power of Jesus’ resurrection in our own day as Jesus triumphs over sin and death in our personal lives. St. Paul reminds us in Col. 3:2 to “let your thoughts be on heavenly things, not on the things that are on the earth.” May you and yours experience the joy of the Risen Lord throughout this blessed season of Easter, alleluia, alleluia! THE FEAST OF DIVINE MERCY Remember that we continue the Novena to Divine Mercy this Easter Week, leading up to the Feast of Divine Mercy next Sunday. Please continue to pray the novena prayers and the chaplet of Divine Mercy through the week and then join us for the Holy Hour from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. on the afternoon of Divine Mercy Sunday, April 3rd, including an induction ceremony for the Annunciation Divine Mercy Cenacle and followed by a reception in the gym. Please join us for this time of thanksgiving and petition to Our Lord for the mercy God wishes to bestow upon the world. Oh, Jesus, whose blood and water gushed forth from your heart as a fountain of mercy for us, we trust in You! PRAYER TO THE GLORIFIED LORD Jesus, who did confound all your enemies by clothing in glory and splendor that body which had been the victim of the cruelty of man, give me grace to die to myself that I may rise again with You, and after your likeness lead a new, divine, immortal life: new by change of conduct, divine by the generosity and purity of my love, immortal by perseverance in well doing. Work in my heart, O Lord, this happy change; make me pass from death to life, from darkness to light, from a life full of imperfections to a life worthy of You. Make me go from light to light, from virtue to virtue, till I come at last to You, O God of virtue, source of all life and of all light. To you also I turn, O holy Virgin, Mother of Our Savior, deign to make me a partaker of the divine joy which you did feel on the blessed day of his resurrection. Dry my tears and free my heart from all oppressive sadness. Let your Risen Son enter into my heart, as through the closed doors into the upper chamber. Let Him say to me, as to the Apostles: “Peace be to you”; let Him show to me, as to Thomas, his sacred wounds; let Him abide with me continually, and never more depart from me. Amen. NEW MEXICO ALLIANCE FOR LIFE There will be a New Mexico Alliance for Life Information Session on Tuesday, March 29th at 6:30 p.m. at the Aquinas Newman Center at UNM, located at 1815 Las Lomas Rd, NE. HAPPY EASTER TO ONE AND ALL!

“Christ is the Light of the World. The Gospel dispels our darkness, enabling us to come to a new self-understanding. It is a Gospel filled with paradox: obedience giving freedom death bringing forth life suffering leading to infinite joy. And we are invited to participate in this divine comedy, this heavenly race, this great mystery of love and mercy.”

- ishop Robert Morneau, Ashes to Easter p.

“ or our sake hrist was obedient, accepting death, death on a cross. Therefore God raised him on high and gave him a name above all other

names.”

Our youth gave a moving portrayal of the Lord s Passion the Friday before Holy Week. Many who came remained in stunned silence afterwards, pondering the sacrifice, the suffering, Jesus giving of self unto death on a Cross for our sins. It is such silence where all we hope for seems dashed—much how the disciples felt that their hope that Jesus was the Messiah seemed lost. In these moments of disappointment and loss, let this Easter season be a time of new hope, that Jesus indeed makes all things new. Let us turn to the empty tomb, trusting that indeed Jesus wants to make our lives new in Him!

Easter Prayer

God our Father, creator of all, today is the day of Easter joy.

This is the morning on which the Lord appeared to men

who had begun to lose their hope and opened their eyes to what the scriptures foretold:

that first he must die, and then he would rise and ascend into his Father's glorious presence.

May the risen Lord breathe on our minds and open our eyes

that we may know him in the breaking of bread,

and follow him in his risen life.

Grant this through Christ our Lord. Amen. (~EWTN.com)
