THE MEANING OF THE CANDLE COLORS IN OUR CHURCH You have probably noticed that we have three different colored candle holders in our church. The red sanctuary lamp is always lit near the Tabernacle, which indicates and honors the presence of Christ. It is traditionally red, although that is not prescribed by law. Padre has chosen a blue holder nearest the statue of Our Lady of Gua-dalupe, since blue is traditionally associated with our Holy Mother. It also signifies peace, unity and the integrity of families. The Knights of Columbus donated the green globes. The candle nearest the choir section, which is also the corner of the church dedicated to the military, is in honor of and safety for those serving our country and gratitude for those who have served and those who have died for our country. We will also be using green globes to be mounted near our pictures along the sides walls, for a more uniform look for our church. EL SIGNIFICADO DE LA VELA DE COLORES EN NUESTRA IGLESIA Usted probablemente ha notado que tenemos candelabros de tres colores diferentes en nuestra iglesia. La lám-para roja del santuario estará siempre encienda cerca del tabernáculo, esta indica y honra la presencia de Cris-to. Es tradicionalmente rojo, aunque eso no es prescrito por la ley. She will give a presentation on Monday evening at 6 PM and there will be a potluck afterwards. Please bring a dish to share.
