Mission Statement We, the people of the Parish of the Holy Cross, are a Multi-cultural parish of the young and elderly, married and single, healthy and broken. We welcome all to come together and give praise and thanks to God. Through the celebration of the Eucharist and the other sacraments and devotions of the Church, we reach out to others in mercy and compassion and seek to share the joy of the Gospel throughout our large community. Here, with the support, strength, and inspiration we receive from one another, we are nourished daily on our journey of faith. Pastoral Team Rev. Blood of Christ, Inebriate Me Through the veins of our Blessed Lord flowed His precious and life giving Blood. It was by the shedding of His Blood that we were redeemed, purified and claimed. As the Church Fathers teach: "The Precious Blood which we worship is the Blood which the Savior shed for us on Calvary and reassumed at His glorious Resurrection; it is the Blood which courses through the veins of His risen, glorified, living body at the right hand of God the Father in heaven; it is the Blood made present on our altars by the words of Consecration; it is the Blood which merited sanctifying grace for us and through it washes and beautifies our soul and inaugurates the beginning of eternal life in it." The Church sets aside the month of July to meditate and adore our Lord’s precious Blood. We should take advantage of this time to recite on a daily basis the Anima Christi prayer, from which the title of this article was taken, and the litany of the precious Blood. Fr. David

Live Stewardship “… whoever does not take up his cross and follow after

me is not worthy of me.” - MATTHEW 10:38 Pope Benedict XVI said “The world offers you comfort. But you were not made for comfort, you were made for greatness.” “Comfort” puts me first. “Picking up your cross and following Jesus” puts God and others first. Why settle for comfort when you can achieve greatness! Live Stewardship, pick up your cross, ask Jesus for guidance on using your gifts and live the life God intended for you!

June 24-25, 2017: Offertory Collection: $11,849.00

Today’s gospel challenges us to resist the individualism of our culture. Everything we are and have is pure gift which we are expected to share especially to the “lowly ones.” What has been freely given needs to be shared freely. No strings attached.

(Ages 13-17) meets every 2nd & 4th Fridays of the month from 7-9 pm at St. Teresa of Avila Church. Contact: Deacon Don Rogozenski at [email protected]

You may take a form with you, but it will be very helpful to have you complete it right then. Payment can be made at the same time or you will be billed later. Students in need of BAPTISM can register and begin classes in September; however, parents must make arrangements to have the child baptized as soon as possible. If you have any questions, please contact Melissa Kiessling, CRE, at the parish office (856-455-2323, ext. 309).

This is the tenth part of a series that chronicles the story of the

apparitions of Our Lady of Fatima to remind our parishioners to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the miracles at Fatima.

During the June 13th visit, Lucia was sad and concerned about Jacinta and Francisco’s fate and asked “Am I to stay here alone?” Our Lady answered, “No, my daughter. Are you suffering a great deal? Don’t lose heart. I will never forsake you. My Immaculate Heart will be your refuge and the way will lead you to God.” To be continued… Mark your Calendar: Rosary Rally, Oct. 14 at noon

No pierdas corazón.

The world was a playground for Mickey, a naive Irish American kid bored with his life. His father served in World War II, his brother was a Marine in Vietnam; now it was his turn. His 365 days in Vietnam builds in torment until an attack on a bunker complex in Cambodia. Wounded, his friend captured, he becomes a tormented survivor knowing he is always just a heartbeat from death.

In this memoir, set as deeply in his mind as in the Southeast Asian jungle, a young American soldier embarks

on a journey to a war that, for him, will never be over.
