OUR PARISH MISSION STATEMENT
We, the parish family of St. William the Abbot, a welcoming Catholic community, led by the Holy Spirit, are called to proclaim, and to witness to, the Good News of Salvation, so that we may grow to-gether, among all generations, and advance the Kingdom of God, in our love and service of God and neighbor.
Anointing of the sick: To schedule an anointing call the parish office. Baptism: Baptisms may be arranged for most Sundays of the year at 1:00PM. First time parents must attend a Baptism Preparation Class, which is offered on the third Monday of the month at 7PM. Please call the parish office to schedule a baptism and/or the class. Matrimony: Engaged couples should call the parish of-fice for an interview appointment one year before the wedding date. Obtain a Mass Card: During office hours we welcome those who would like to request that their special inten-tions or deceased loved ones be prayed for particularly at a weekday or weekend Mass. We ask a donation of $10 per Mass. Obtain a Certificate of Eligibility: Registered parishioners who have been asked to be a Godparent or Confirma-tion Sponsor, should call the parish office to request a certificate of eligibility. Eligible individuals (according to Canon Law) are at least 16 years old, fully initiated, married in the Catholic Church (if married) and partici-pating in the life of our faith regularly and are not the child’s parents. Register for the parish: We are so happy to welcome new members to our Parish Family! Please come and see us at the Parish Office, so that we can get your information and meet you.

Make me humble, pa-tient, pure and wholly obedient to your will. Grant, Good Jesus, that I may live in you and for you. Protect me in the midst of danger. Comfort me in my afflictions. Did you know? Vatican City has the highest crime rate in

ing it should be remembered that the Vati-
can is about one square mile in size, and

About 15 percent of all hospitals in the United States
are Catholic hospitals. In some parts of the world,
the Catholic Church provides the only healthcare,
education and social services available to people. The ONLY Christian church in existence for the first
1,000 years of Christian history was the Roman
Catholic Church. All other Christian churches which
exist today can trace their linage back to the Roman
Catholic Church. Most non-Catholic churches which
exist today are less than a century or two old by
comparison.
During the offertory part of the Mass the priest
pours just a few drops of water into the chalice and
then says: "By the mystery of this water and wine,
may we come to share in the divinity of Christ who
humbled Himself to share in our humanity." This is
done to symbolize the water and blood that flowed
from the side of Christ on the Cross (John 19:33)
after he was pierced with the soldier's lance. It calls
our attention to the fact that what is human (our
gifts of bread and wine) will become divine soon in
the consecrations.
Why we pray the creed at every Sunday Mass:
Christians have shared a creed, or set of beliefs since the earliest
days of Christianity. The Nicene Creed was formalized in 325
A.D. It’s a series of “I believe” statements, and is a beautiful,
easy to understand representation of Universal Christian teach-
ings. Every single Mass, we stand up together and state our be-
liefs corporately. That’s a cool moment- publicly affirming your
beliefs among others who are affirming the same.

An ancient prayer to the Blessed Virgin Mary, the oldest known ver-
sion of which is found on an Egyptian papyrus from the 3rd century.
This prayer is used in Litanies to the Blessed Mother and as a con-
cluding prayer to Compline. A partial indulgence is granted to the
faithful who recite it.
