FAMILY FUN NIGHT AT ST. MICHAEL’S PARISH

BARBEQUE, GAMES, &

THE MOVIE “RATATOUILLE”

UNDER THE STARS

Dinner at 6:00, followed by games suitable for all ages. Movie begins at dark. Please call 732-483-0360 ext. 110 by June 28th to RSVP if you will be joining us

for the BBQ. Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, Etc. will be avail-able ONLY FOR RSVP-ers on our list by June 28.

Pictured is Rev. Richard Os-born. He is one of the Trenton Diocese's newest priests (ordained on June 4, 2016) and a parishioner at St. Jerome's Church where he celebrated his First Mass. Fr. Rick will be celebrating Masses here at St. Michael's this Sunday afternoon (June 19 at 4:00) and during the upcoming week. Please congratulate him and wish him well, ask for his blessing as a "new priest," and pray for vocations (male and female...young and old!)

The Faith in Our Future (“FIOF”) process continues… but the ball is currently on the Diocesan Planning Commission’s side of the net. As mentioned in the pastor’s letter two weeks ago and in last Sunday’s bulletin update, our parish and our sister parishes of Cohort 17 suggested to the Diocesan Planning Com-mission the implementation of the COLLABORATIVE MODEL in Cohort 17. The Diocesan Planning Commission is currently evaluating that suggestion (and the suggestions of the 24 other cohorts of the diocese) and we are looking forward to receiving the Commission’s response in the next weeks at which time further cohort/parish-level FIOF work will resume. Information of FIOF can be found at the Dioce-san website at www.dioceseoftrenton.org/faithinourfuture or our parish website at www.stmichaelnj.com.

The 2016 St. Michael’s Scholarship Awards will be presented on June 19. The scholarship recipients will be recognized at the 12:00 Noon Mass that day and will receive their award checks and certificates at a reception immediately after the Mass. An aggregate of $15,000 will be presented to a total of 51 scholar-ship recipients. Funding for the scholarships has come from two sources: (1) 50% of the proceeds from the parish’s Grand Raffle that was conducted earlier this year and (2) donations from fam-ilies and other benefactors. Congratulations to all our 2016 scholarship recipients! And thank you to all our scholarship contributors and committee members!

PASTORAL CARE STEPHEN & PADUAN MINISTRIES

Our Extraordinary Ministers made 13 communion/shut-in visits and 2 Stephen Ministry visits during this past week. We pray that we have helped to bring God’s love and peace to His people in need.

Who We Are! “Our true worth does not consist in what human beings think of us. What we really are, consists of what God knows us to be.” -St. John Berchmans

Our prayers to our ‘all-knowing and loving’ God should be to strive always to see ourselves as God sees us rather than as others do. Pray that with His help, you may continue to grow and become the person that God wants you to be for all eternity.

Our Extraordinary Ministers are available for our parishioners to visit the sick, the elderly, and to bring Communion. Please contact us if you need us at 732-483-0360 ext. 120. PrayertoSt.Jude

PrayerforFathers Loving God, giver of all good gifts, you show us your love in the gift of our fathers. Bless them with your spirit of wisdom, and give them the grace to set a loving example for us through their faith. St. Jude, you too led a life of sel less service and fruitful love. Guide our fathers through your intercession. Give them strong conviction, renewed hope, and perfect charity; so they may teach with authority, comfort us when we falter, and anchor our families in your love. Amen.

Youth Group News

The Youth Group had a busy weekend...we participated in the ministry weekend and filmed for a T.V. show called Real Faith T.V. This program is a peer produced and faith driven teen talk show discussing modern is-sues facing young people. About 5 years ago I discov-ered Real Faith T.V., and it changed our Youth Group forever. The show really connects with the kids in a way that no other program does. The hosts of the show are the same age, creating a connection right away. The topics that are talked about are age appro-priate and are approached from a Catholic perspec-tive. I have been searching for other programs to use with my group and I always return to Real Faith T.V. This summer Youth Group was chosen to participate in the opening segment of one of their episodes. The topic is "Respecting Gods Creation." The Youth Group members were interviewed and asked specific ques-tions regarding this topic and how Faith plays a role. This was so exciting for our group members! We had a small lake cleanup as part of the segment. Keep checking the bulletin for all updates. Great job: Will Catalano, Alyssa Longo, Juliana Rodri-guez, Elizabeth Regn, Amanda Kilroy, Brandon Kilroy, Amber Kilroy, Ciaran Dennehy, Luke Sweeney, Jack Sweeney, Jake Papa, Chrissy Cundiff, Martina Novick, Francesca Antonucci and Fabio Tessiore. Finally a big thank you to William Johnson from Mon-mouth County Clean Communities, for lending us all the supplies for our filming. We had safety vests, litter sticks, gloves and bags. He also had a really cool dumptruck that we used in one of our filming seg-ments! :) We look forward to being involved with this organization in the future.

~Jamie Plantamura

The group is open to anyone that is experiencing a loss of the heart.
