Workshop on Lectio Divina
Get your spiritual life jumpstarted this New Year. The Catholic Conference Center in Hickory, NC is offering a one-day workshop Saturday, January 23: Discover the Ancient Practice of Lectio Divina. The presenter will be Judy O’Toole, an experience practitioner and present-er of contemplative practices. The workshop will run from 9:00am to 3:00pm. The cost of $35 includes all retreat fees, lunch, and access to the beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces around the center. An additional over-night option is available for those who wish to expand this into a private retreat.

Second Collection: Combined Missions January 17
As part of the diocesan combined collections program, the Collection for the Church in Latin America, the Church in Central and Eastern Europe, Church in Africa, Catholic Home Missions, and the United States Mission Collection have been combined into one second collec-tion. That collection will be taken up at all Masses next weekend. Your contribution to the good work of these organizations will give you an opportunity to participate in the missionary activity of the Church on both a local and world level. The envelope for this collection is part of your parish envelope packet.

Faith Formation News: Grades 1 - 8 Reminder: Next class at the church and school building is Wednesday, January 13th at 5:45pm. Important: Please do not send your child to class if he/she is feeling unwell or if they have been in contact with someone who tested positive for Covid-19. Attention Parents of the Confirmation Students: The class is dismissed at 7:30pm from the main entrance of the church. For your child’s safety, you must meet your child outside the entrance. Your child cannot meet you at your vehicle in the parking lot.

Exciting News! Pope Francis declares the Year of St. Joseph
Pope Francis declared the Year of St. Joseph from Dec. 8, 2020 - Dec. 8, 2021. Also, Bishop Jugis extended the Year of St. Joseph for the Diocese of Charlotte. Many parishioners participated in the 33-day preparation for Consecration to St. Joseph last year but due to the Covid-19 pandemic we could not gather for the special group consecration to St. Joseph on the feast day. Good news...we are again initiating the 33-day preparation for the Consecration to St. Joseph. The 33-day spiritual preparation begins Feb. 15th and concludes on the Feast of St. Joseph which is March 19th. More details coming soon.

El Papa Francisco declaró el Año de San José del 8 de diciembre de 2020 al 8 de diciembre de 2021. Además, el obispo Jugis extendió el Año de San José para la Diócesis de Charlotte. Muchos feligreses participaron en la preparación de 33 días para la Consagración a San José el año pasado, pero debido a la pandemia de Covid-19 no
pudimos reunirnos para la consagración grupal especial a San José en el día de la fiesta. Buenas noticias ... estamos nuevamente iniciando la preparación de 33 días para la Consagración a San José. La preparación espiritual de 33 días comienza el 15 de febrero y concluye en la Fiesta de San José, que es el 19 de marzo. Más detalles próximamente.
