FED BY THE LORD

Jesus' words "This is my body" and "This cup is the new covenant in my blood" were only part of his table blessing. Jesus twice said: "Do this in remembrance of me" (1 Corinthians 11:24, 25).

This is the good news of today's solemnity. Like the five thousand hungry

souls, we are fed by our Lord. This is not food that satisfies for only a short time, until the next meal.

It is food that lasts and changes us. It is food for sharing in much the same way as Melchizedek did when he brought bread and wine to the returning Abraham.

As children of God's reign, we are blessed to be able to receive and share God's gift.

ACT OF SPIRITUAL COMMUNION

Oh Jesus, I turn toward the holy tabernacle where You live hidden for love of me. I love you, O my God. I cannot now receive You in Holy Communion. Come, nevertheless, and visit me with Your grace. Come spiritually into my heart. Purify it. Sanctify it. Render it like unto Your own. Amen.

Lord, I am not worthy that You should enter under my roof, but only say the word and my soul shall be healed.

THE FEAST OF CORPUS CHRISTI

To celebrate this feast day a film THIS IS MY BODY, THIS IS MY BLOOD, will

be shown at 2:30 in the Chapel today, May 29, 2016.

This film is about the many Miracles of the Eucharist around the world. It will

seem as though you are journeying to the sites yourself and you will leave with a

deeper faith in the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist. Do join us!

ATTENTION ROSARY MAKERS OF SAINT PAUL!

The Rosary Makers are starting up again. New members are always welcome as

well as those who have already participated in this worthwhile project. New participants will receive instruction

and the necessary tools and supplies to create the Rosaries - it's easy!

Please watch for future Bulletin announcements for time and place.

If you have a big heart for kids and love to teach Saint Paul might be the place for you. At Saint Paul, you don't just teach the data you get to teach the rest. The fruit of our school is its graduates and we are looking for two great teachers to join our team where our students are formed spiritually, intellectually, socially and physically.

We have small classes, a great curriculum, few extra duties and prayer and worship is part of your week at Saint Paul. Our benefits are great, our pay per student is higher than most every public school, and our teachers get to be creative.

If this sounds like a school you want to be a part of please send me your resume and set aside some time for an interview over the next couple of weeks. We are just about to finish a great year at Saint Paul and are looking forward to a bright future.

It is hard to believe we have been at this for 129 years in New Bern, NC. Saint Paul is one of over 30 Catholic Schools in Eastern North Carolina. We are small but we are part of a much larger school system that loves teaching children and introducing them to the person who matters most in their life, Jesus Christ.

Contact Deacon Dave Kierski at [email protected] or call the school - 633-0100.

RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION PROGRAM

Do you attend mass but are NOT Catholic? Are you married to a non-Catholic who has voiced an interest in our faith?

Were you baptized Catholic but never received any other sacraments?

If you have answered yes to any of these questions please call us to enroll in our next RCIA program that will begin in the fall. We meet every Sunday morning from 9:15 to 10:30 in the FLC.

Our goal is to help you become educated in the faith and to prepare you to receive the sacraments.

Sessions are informal and interactive, our goal is to educate and answer the questions presented by those in attendance.

Please call the church office at 252-638-1984 to register or Marcelene McLure at 252-497-0619 for detailed information.

CHAPLET OF DIVINE MERCY

In and through Christ, God is visible in his mercy. He speaks of it and explains it in parables, but above all he himself makes it incarnate and personifies it. HE HIMSELF IS MERCY.

To the one who sees it in him, God becomes “visible” in a clear way as “the Father who is rich in mercy.” In this Jubilee Year of Mercy let us live every day in the glorious message of past seasons that Jesus, Emmanuel,

is with us still – forever – as merciful Savior and Advocate. Even when we move away in our thoughts, words and deeds, he is here for us, for he never moves!! Have

mercy on us, Jesus. Join us for the Chaplet each Sunday at 10:30AM in the Chapel

Broken Hearts! Glad Tidings!

Bishop Burbidge has announced the assignment of Father William Upah to the pastorate of our neighboring parish, Annunciation Catholic Church, Havelock. Bishop has assigned Deacon Michael

Schuetz as our new Parochial Vicar, after his Ordination as priest.

These changes are effective June 23rd. Congratulations to them both!

Please join us for a farewell to our beloved Fr Bill on Saturday evening, June 18th, after the 5 pm Mass (Father’s Day weekend), about 6:15pm. We’ll miss him and we want him to know it!

Please join in prayer with the entire Diocese as part of the preparation for the Ordination of Deacon Schuetz (and his classmate Deacon Kane) on June 4th.

(Note from Fr Tully: For your information, but not telling you what to do, it is very appropriate to give cash or checks to priests as a thank you and sign of support…. in case you were wondering).

Bishop welcomes Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament of Onitsha

(Nigeria) to the Diocese!

The Most Reverend Michael F. Burbidge, Bishop of Raleigh is pleased to welcome the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament of Onitsha (Nigeria) established residence and a headquarters for their Order in the United

States at the Saint Alphonus Center in Wilson, on May 15th

Founded in 1995, in Onitsha, Nigeria, the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament are an Institute of Consecrated Life of Diocesan Right, currently with 75 members of the community world-wide. The charism of the Order is adoration of Our Lord in the Most Holy Eucharist and their apostolates are the production of sacred vessels and liturgical vesture, care of the elderly, the sick and the poor, as well as religious education. Their motto is “God First”.

Bishop Burbidge stated, “I welcome the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament to the Diocese of Raleigh, especially as they establish their headquarters in the United States. The Sisters bring great joy to all those they encounter as they exercise their apostolates, especially to those who are ill and most in need. Most importantly though, I welcome their charism of prayer, as this is essential for us to exercise the mission of Christ in our Diocese, as we attend the many pastoral and spiritual needs of all those entrusted to our care here in eastern North Carolina.

Please join in welcoming the Sisters as part of our Diocesan family and in praying that Our Lord may bless their community with an increase in vocations to the

consecrated life, especially from our Diocese.”
