A MESSAGE FROM FATHER PAT

PRAYER TO ST. PIUS X Glorious Pope of the Eucharist, Saint Pius X, you sought "to restore all things in Christ.” Obtain for me a true love of Jesus so that I may live only for Him. Help me to acquire a lively fervor and a sincere will to strive for sanctity of life, and that I may avail myself of the riches of the Holy Eucharist in sacrifice and sacrament. By your love for Mary, mother and queen of all, inflame my heart with tender devotion to her. Blessed model of the priesthood, obtain for us holy, dedicated priests, and increase vocations to the religious life. Dispel confusion and hatred and anxiety, and incline our hearts to peace and concord so that all nations will place themselves under the sweet reign of Christ. Amen. Saint Pius X, pray for us.

Dear St. Pius X Community,

I love potlucks, they don’t agree with my diet, but it was for a good cause, yes? For all those that helped plan the Birth-day celebra on for both Fr. Cesar and me, THANK YOU! For all your generous Gi s, THANK YOU! I am thinking about switching the parish feast day dinner to potluck as it was a great evening and everyone commented that we don’t have enough of them anymore. Let me know what you think!

Remember for service hours this summer I have tons of projects. From new concrete to building shelves, to sor ng computer equipment to throwing away tons of more stuff. If you need or want the hour, please let me know, or if you need them by the end of the year, we can work that out too.

You may have no ced a lot of Gille e AC Trucks around. Luckily most of that is annual maintenance. The bad news is, not all of it. We lost a compressor on the gym so the kids loved seeing the crane show up to li the units up and down. They cheered and I kept praying, faster, faster, we pay by the hour for that thing. But, we should have a cool gym for our summer programs which seem amazing. Everyday a new adventure. Summer fun is just that – FUN, call Coach Stacie or Mindy at the school office, (210) 824-6431, for more info.

Also, we have decided to keep Jane Zarate as Principal and have Cathy Brown step up as Assistant Principal for the next school year. We will start a search for a new principal next year. We are making some changes. Our plan is to have a STEM or STEM like program in place for next year for 1st and 2nd Grade and add two years every year ll we have PreK through 8. Please let me know if you have any thoughts or ideas.

Talent. Last month we looked at who was in our pews. We have about 580 families that filled out a card. We will be contac ng the 1200 others that didn’t fill out a card and invite them back or see what they need from us now. Talent is what we give back. Look at our next genera on of kneeler healers, our Arboreans (they need a new genera on to start helping out), the Ladies of St. Pius X and even those groups technically not under the parish umbrella like the Knights and St. Vincent de Paul. We are blessed. But everyone needs to do something. Many are already commi ed, but we are going to ask all of you to

Please, let others in our parish know about Stephen Ministry and the valuable tool it can be for someone in crisis. If you are in need of a Stephen Minister yourself, reach out. God does not ask that we carry our load alone. He has given us one another to help. God calls each of us in our own way, please pray this week so that you can commit next week to deepening your commitment to our God and His Church!

Prayer for Voca ons

Lord, Jesus, we ask you to send more servants to your people.

Choose from our parishes, from our homes, from our schools and colleges,

O Virgin Mary, Mother of the Church, teach to all those the Master calls

to say a joyful "yes" as you did at the Annuncia on. Amen.

54th World Day of Prayer for Voca ons Join Catholics around the world in prayer for voca ons to the priesthood and consecrated life. All Catholics of the Archdiocese of San Antonio are encouraged to pray that young men and women hear and respond generously to the Lord’s call to the priesthood, diaconate and/or religious life.
