Lord, You invite all who are burdened to come to you. Allow Your healing hand to heal them. Touch their soul with Your compassion for others. Touch their Heart with Your courage and infinite love for all. Touch their mind with Your wisdom, that their mouth may always pro-claim Your praise. Te-ach them to reach out to You in their need, and

help them to lead others to You by example. Most loving Heart of Jesús, bring them health in body and spirit that they may serve You with all their strength. Touch gently these lives which You have created, now and forever. Amen.

Gospel: Mark 8: 27-35 In this reading, Jesus teaches his disciples what they

have gradually come to discover: He is indeed the Messiah. But he is a Messiah who must suffer and die. Peter found this hard to ac-cept. For Peter, the Messiah would not, could not, suffer. Judging by human standards, not God's, Peter failed to accept God's will for the

Messiah. Jesus assured all his disciples that they, too, must suf-fer: deny themselves, take up the cross, and follow him. 1.) Why do people reject other people? 2.) Have you ever been rejected for doing what was right or for "not going along with the crowd"? 3.) What "crosses" do you have to "take up" in your life right now? Will you ask Jesus to help you?

¿Pedirás ayuda a Jesús?

Why do Catholics pray the Rosary?

In the early Church, monks led services with a Latin recitation of the Book of Psalms from the Bible called, “The Psalter.” But most people couldn’t read or write Latin, so the “Our Father” (or The Lord’s Prayer) prayer was substituted so that people could easily pray together. Tradition holds that St. Dominic combined the Our Father and Hail Mary prayers with meditations on the mysteries of our faith into the rosary we know today. So the rosary makes it easy for us to pray together and to focus on Jesus’ life and glory. God bless you. Fr. Alex
