CAMPAIGN FOR PEOPLE WITH INTELLECTUAL DISABILITIES

FUNDRAISING DRIVE OCTOBER 10 & 11

The Knights of Columbus will be hosting their annual

campaign for people with Intellectual Disabilities (in the past often referred to as the Tootsie Roll Drive) the weekend of October 10 & 11 after all the Outdoor

Masses.

In appreciation, donors are offered a sealed tootsie roll candy for their generosity in donating to support the

Knights’ campaign. Social Distancing and personal pro-tection including gloves and masks and sanitizing will be followed by the Knights. Baskets will be provided for donors to drop their donations into to avoid close

contact.

All proceeds will go to benefit and support people with intellectual disabilities.

The Knights thank you for your support and generosity.

Page Three St. Margaret Mary October 11, 2020 A note from the Administrator

Dear friends, Several weeks ago I shared in this column one of my “survival skills” --- a practice that “keeps me alive and positive” during this long dark time. Here are some more of yours:

My son came to live with me when my husband passed 4 years ago, and is disabled enough to use a cane; he helps me around the house as much as he can. When we feel down and stiff and sore we go out back and trim trees and do lawn work on our acre. You lose your-self in selfless work and the ability to be needed. This is so satisfying and the Lord is out there watch-ing over us. So relaxing and wonderful.

Thank You, Joan Jones Dear Father Mike, I like to always have something to look forward to . . . . . It could be as simple as looking forward to a weekly video chat with a group of friends, or looking for-ward to trying a new recipe or a new local place to explore. Yours sincerely, Mrs. Susy Gomez Hi Father Mike, What I have learned from this time in during Covid it to be aware of the increased family time, and enjoying the opportunity to be-come closer. I also planted wildflowers in my planters that became a comfort to me and my family. May God Bless you Father, Gerry and Velia Partida Hi Father Mike, My family recently contracted Covid. ,I had to go deep down into my faith. I would have trouble sleeping. I found out what helped me was I would ask Google to play Christian music, and the power of Jesus in the music would calm me down. And, I truly felt Je-sus was with me and my family. Espie Perez Charlie Reuff puts a shot of wine and a li le bread in front of the computer screen during Livestream Mass, and then eats and drinks them when the priest is going to communion. This makes him feel a strong connec on with Mass. That’s all for now. God bless you and keep you safe. Peace, All Good! Fr. Mike

Paz y bien! P. Mike
