In Term 3 we competed in a maths contest that ran over three weeks. This contest had
ten questions every week that challenged us. We competed against schools all over
Australia and we ended up coming equal fifth. This was an amazing result as it consist-
ed of over seventy more schools. We would also like to congratulate the other four
teams in our school who also earned a good result.
OCTOBER 26th - NOVEMBER 2nd
PARENT INFORMATION SESSION, WEDNESDAY 28th OCTOBER AT 9.00AM
PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE
Dear all,
First of all welcome back to Term 4! It promises to be a busy and productive term for all. With the entire
school community working together it will be a very rewarding term as well.
Staffing News
Congratulations to Mr. Michael Williams! He has this week been offered, and accept-
ed, a permanent teaching position here at Lindsay Park Public School. He won the role
through a Merit Selection process. This means that Mr. Williams will continue to dedi-
cate himself to the Lindsay Park students and their families for many years to come.
This news was certainly warmly received by the staff and I am sure you will join me in
congratulating him on his appointment.
Mrs. Skye Williams (2W) has commenced her Maternity Leave. Miss. Amy Thomp-
son, who was previously working on 2W on Thursday and Friday, has replaced her full-
time for the remainder of 2015. We wish Mrs. Williams well with the birth of her sec-
ond child.
School Works
As you walk around the school you may notice Improvements to the drainage around
the Canteen. These works were completed over the school holidays. New concrete around this area was
also laid. At the same time the curb which was between The Infants Block and the Library was removed.
This will improve access to the Canteen and the Primary COLA whilst eradicating a trip hazard.
PSSA Sport
PSSA Sport begins for Stage 2 and 3 students in Week 3, Friday 23 October. It will run for 5 weeks, con-
cluding on Friday 20 November and is free of charge. Stage 2 will be walking to Sid Parish Oval and
playing Dragontag. Stage 3 will be walking to Figtree Oval for AFL Auskick. Please have the notes re-
turned to school at your earliest convenience.
Kindergarten Orientation
An exciting part of the year is upon us. We begin to welcome our Kindergarten students of 2016 and their
families to Lindsay Park. The Kindergarten Orientation Parent Meeting is on Monday, 2 November, from
11:45am until 1pm. Kindergarten Orientation Group 1 is invited to attend the school on Wednesday, 4
November and Thursday, 5 November from 11:45am until 1pm. Kindergarten Orientation Group 2 will
be busily preparing for school on Wednesday, 11 November and Thursday, 12 November from 11:45am
until 1pm. I know the orientation process is a great experience for our potential students.
Big Top Carnival
Finally a HUGE thank you goes out to the entire school community for striving towards a successful fete.
The Big Top Carnival is only a week away but has been many months in the planning. It is only through
the dedication of our school community members that such a massive event can take place. The school
staff and students thank you for your commitment to the students of Lindsay Park Public School. Please
join me in wishing for sunshine and our whole community involvement on Saturday, 24 October. These
two factors will ensure an amazing day is had by all.

We have recently detected a few cases of Pediculosis (head lice)
within the school. Arrangements have been made for the children
affected to be treated by their parents//care-givers.
To avoid the situation spreading would you please carefully in-
spect your child’s hair without delay and notify the school if you
detect this condition.
Children with Pediculosis cannot be re-admitted to school until
fully treated and all eggs removed. I urge you to attend to this
situation immediately.
Thanking you for your support

HAVE YOU CHANGED
YOUR
ADDRESS AND/OR
PHONE
NUMBER?
If any of your details have changed,
please inform the office in writing as
soon as possible.
Recently we have tried to contact
parents of children who are sick and
have been unable to do so because
we have not been given up to date
phone numbers.
Emergency contacts should also be
current and the people you nominate
as emergency contacts should be
aware that you have given their de-
tails to us.
We need to keep our records current
in order to give your child the best
possible care in case of illness, acci-
dent or emergency.
Parking and morning drop offs
Sadly we once again have to remind
parents about parking and dropping off
their children SAFELY in the morning. On
a number of occasions recently drivers
have been observed parking in the No
Stopping zone on the edge of the chil-
dren’s crossing, blocking motorists’ view
of the crossing, the school driveway and the footpath where children and parents
cross the driveway. This is an extremely
dangerous practice and will be reported
to police or the council if this unsafe
behaviour continues.
Drivers have also been seen parking in
the middle of the road in front of the school to drop off and/or pick up their
children. This is not a safe thing to do and
puts children, other motorists and staff at
risk. Please be responsible and park in the appropriate areas of the street when
dropping off your children at school.
Far better for you or your child to have to walk 100mts than to risk a fine or
worse, an accident causing injury to
someone.
