I hope you all had an enjoyable break. Classes have been formed for 2013. The teachers and I have carefully considered the placement of all students and regardless of how classes are formed, each child is taught and assessed in terms of the NSW DEC Syllabus Learning Outcomes. Our teachers are here to encourage and help your child to achieve their personal best in all areas. We know all parents will aid us in this aim by supporting students and staff . We have sent out several notes recently. If you have not received the following notes please ask your child to collect one from their teacher. New school canteen menu, Spring Fete note, Scripture Preference note, P&C fundraiser note, Text book note, Swimming Carnival note, Asthma information form. Reminders Children who are not picked up at the end of the school day (2.50pm) are to wait with the teacher supervising bus duty, if they are still waiting after the bus has left they are to return to the office with the duty teacher. Please endeavour to pick your children up at the correct time. If you are going to be more than a few minutes late please contact the office on 42292487 so that we can inform your child of your expected time of arrival. No child is to play on the play equipment before or after school as it is not being actively supervised by a teacher. Please do not park in the driveway as it blocks access for teachers and presents a danger for students who cannot be seen entering school grounds. Please enter the school grounds via the two walk ways and not through the carpark. Using the carpark is a very dangerous practice and should be avoided at all costs. Please ensure that jewellery and other valuables are kept at home. We can not be responsi- ble for lost items. When sending money, please ensure that your child’s name and class is clearly written on the envelope. Textbook fees have been handed out. It would be appreciated if these could be paid for as soon as possible, if you would like to pay the textbooks off please see the office staff. Robert Cusack Principal WELCOME KINDERGARTEN 2013

LIBRARY NEWS Library borrowing has commenced.
Please put your library bags in your school bag so you are able to borrow.
Parents of Kindergarten students, please supply your child with a library bag, this needs to be reasonably large to accommodate larger format picture books. A pillowslip, green type shopping bag or similar would be fine.

ASTHMA
If your child suffers with asthma the school needs to
have the appropriate medication for that child availa-
ble at all times.
Regardless of whether your child usually has their
medication in their bag, the school would appreciate it
if you could supply a puffer labelled with your child’s
name to be kept in the office at school for emergencies
or for the days when your child forgets to bring their
puffer to school.
Please fill out the Asthma Record
form attached to this newsletter and
return it filled in, as soon as possi-
ble, with a puffer.

UNIFORM SHOP
Just a reminder that the uniform shop will open from 8.30am. to 9.30am. on TUESDAYS .
Order forms are available from the school office.
NO NUTS
Please be aware that we have a number of children in the
school with severe allergies. We ask that you do not pack
your children any nuts, sesame seeds or products contain-
ing nuts. Contact with these things may cause an anaphylactic
reaction in some students. We thank you for your co-operation
in this important matter.

SWIMMING CARNIVAL WEDNESDAY13th FEBRUARY
- 12noon—2.45pm (approx.)
The 2013 Lindsay park P.S. Swimming carnival will be held next Wednesday, 13th February from 12noon at West-
ern Suburbs pool, Unanderra. Children who turn 8, 9,10, 11, 12,or 13 this year and are competent swimmers are
invited to attend. Please return the swimming permission note to your child’s class teacher by 9 am. Wednesday.
SWIMMING CARNIVAL PROGRAM

Welcome back to a new SPORTS year, and a very busy one it will be. To get the sporting year kick started we have our school swimming carnival at Western Suburbs Swimming Pool next Wednesday, Febru-ary 13th. Any parents who are willing to time keep, please let Mrs Colquhoun know as soon as possible. The order of events appear in
the program above.
DISTRICT SWIMMING CARNIVAL will be held at Western Suburbs Pool on WEDNESDAY 27th February.
DISTRICT SPORT TRIALS Year 5 and 6 students are able to try out for a variety of district teams this term. To trial, the
student needs to play the sport at an A or representative level. No district trial dates have been set as yet. I will update
parents and students as the information comes in.
STATE SOCCER KNOCKOUT This year we have entered a girls and a boys team into the NSWPSSA Knockout compe-
tition. This will take place in term 2.
If you have any questions or concerns in regard to sport this year, please do not hesitate to email or drop in to see me.

Last year parents of all children in years one to six signed a permission note allowing the school to add their child’s / chil-
dren’s photos or names to the website or newsletters. If there are any changes to the information on the notes that were returned
last year, please download a new note from the “Notes” section on the school website. It is very rare that photos and names are
added on the website together.

Thankyou to all those families that supported us by selling and buying raffle tickets, your efforts are
greatly appreciated. Together we raised approximately $1600 towards enhancing school resources for
