These five sections of

BIOLOGICAL ABSTRACTS are within the reach of every biologist

Beginning in January, 1939, Biological Abstracts has been published in five sections, in addition to the complete issue, to meet an insistent demand from individual scie:ntists who are interested only in one or more closely related fields of biology.

This was a costly experiment. It was done in a spirit of co-operation to give biologists something they wanted at a price they could afford. Subscrip- tions to these sections have shown a steady and gratifying increase-but in order to justify the ex- pense involved, we need the wholehearted support of individual biologists as well as institutions.

Biological Abstracts is a co-operative enterprise actually published by biologists themselves. We have done everything humanly possible, with the limited funds at our commnand, to produiee a schol- arly journal which provides a means for keeping abreast of a rapidly growing and increasingly di- versified literature. We have separated it into five smaller uniits as was requested by a large number of individual biologists. But co-operation should work both ways-and we are still waiting, and hop- ing, for a large number of subscriptions. We have done our part--won't you biologists who are not subscribers do yours?

Here are the five sections. Take your pick and send us your subscription now. Or ask for a sample copy.

SECTION A-ABSTRACTS OF GENERAL BIOLOGY includes General Biology, Biography-History, Bibliography, Evolution, Cytology, Genetics, Biometry and Ecology. Priced at $4 (Foreign, $4.50).

SECTION B-ABSTRACITS OF EXPERIMENTAL ANIMAL BIOLOGY includes Animal Physiology, Nutrition, Pharmacology, Pathology, Aniatomy, Physical Anthropology, Embryology and Animal Production. Priced at $8 (Foreign, $8.50). (Members of the American Physiological Society may subscribe at $6 thru special Society arrangements.)

SECTION C-ABSTRACTS OF MICROBIOLOGY, IMMUNOLOGY AND PARASITOLOGY includes Immunology, Bacteriology, Viruses, Parasitology, Protozoology and Helminthology. Priced at $5 (Foreign, $5.50). (Members of the Society of American Bacteriologists may subscribe at $4 thru special Society arrangements.)

SECTION D-ABSTRACTS OF PLANT SCIENCES includes Phytopathology, Plant Physiology, Plant Anatomy, Paleobotany, Systematic Botany, Agronomy, Horticulture, Forestry, Phar- maeognosy, Plarmaceutical Botany and Ecology. Priced at $6 (Foreign, $6.50).

SECTION E-ABSTRACTS OF ANIMAL SCIENCES includes Paleozoology, Parasitology, Protozool- ogy, Helminthology, Systematic Zoology and Economic Entomology. Priced at $5 (Foreilgn, $5.50).

The Index to the complete volume is included with every subscription to one or more sections.
