My Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, Fifth Sunday in Lent Today's gospel passage is essentially a theological reflection on the cross... Jesus’ cross and ours. If the cross that we carry is truly "our cross" and we carry it with the strength of Jesus, that cross becomes bearable. Often, we carry crosses that do not belong to us and they are unbearable and seem to have no "resurrection" to them...no end. Today and each day we ask the Lord to help us to remain faithful and know that all crosses are temporary, while the glory and union with Christ and following His lead is eternal. Take time to refresh the life of the Spirit that has been given you through baptism. Then witness your faith like disciples and believers throughout the ages. Be assured of my prayers for you and for your dear ones. May the good Lord bless you with wisdom, health, and peace. Please pray for me. In Christ, Fr. Alexis Ibarra
Mis Queridos Hermanos y Hermanas en Cristo, Quinto Domingo de Cuaresma El pasaje evangélico de hoy es esencialmente una reflexión teológica sobre la cruz... la cruz de Jesús y la nuestra. Si la cruz que llevamos es verdaderamente "nuestra cruz" y la llevamos con la fuerza de Je-sús, esa cruz se vuelve soportable. A menudo, llevamos cruces que no nos pertenecen y son insoporta-bles y parecen no tener "resurrección" para ellos... sin fin. Hoy y cada día pedimos al Señor que nos ayude a permanecer fieles y saber que todas las cruces son temporales, mientras que la gloria y la unión con Cristo y siguiendo Su guía es eterna. Tomen tiempo para meditar y refrescar la vida del Espíritu que se les ha dado en su bautismo. Enton-ces den testimonio de su fe, así como lo han hecho los cristianos en cada siglo.
