CATHOLIC CHARITIES

May is the month of Mary, the blessed mother of our Lord. Like Mary, we too can answer the call of

accepting and loving a child. Catholic Charities works closely with birth families to provide a safe place for children, especially sibling groups, to stay and receive care when they cannot receive it at their own home. While often temporary, some children must be relocated permanently. Our Foster Care program allows for children to receive nurturing care from loving families. Interested in learning more about becoming a foster parent? Our next informational meetings will be held at 525 Washington St., Buffalo NY on May 8th from 10-11:30 am and 6-7:30 pm; attend either one. To register for the informational meeting or to learn more, call 716-856-4494 ext 360 or email [email protected]. “Love your neighbor.” Gal. 5:14. Appeal 2018 is still ongoing. Donate at www.ccwny.org/donation.

BUDDY POPPY TIME

The month of May has been deemed Buddy Poppy time and, as in the past we ask for your help with this event. The funds from these poppies is used by the VFW for its members, disabled Veterans, our National Home foundation for the needy children, Widows and Children, veterans in need and fallen veterans. Poppies will be distributed and donations collected after church services on May 26th and 27th, 2018.

A PRAYER FOR HEALING IN THE CHURCH

Holy Spirit, comforter, advocate, and guide, Inspire a new springtime of holiness and apostolic zeal for

the Church.

May our sorrow and our tears, Our sincere effort to redress past wrongs,

And our firm purpose of amendment bear an abundant harvest of grace

For the deepening of faith In our families, parishes, schools, and communities,

For the spiritual progress of society, And the growth of charity, justice, joy and Peace within the whole human family.

To you, Holy Trinity,

Confident in the loving protection of Mary And all the saints,

Do we entrust ourselves, our children, And the needs of the Church in the world.

Amen
