All Souls’ Remembrance Mass Thursday, November 02, at 6:00 p.m.

To honor members of our parish family and other close relatives who have died since All Souls’ Day 2016, we will celebrate a special Mass of

Remembrance. The church takes this day to remember all those who have died and “gone before us marked with the sign of faith.” In faith, we believe that we remain united with our loved ones because the Kingdom

of God is not bound by death. The Book of Remembrance will be displayed in the Narthex, and we invite those, who’s loved one has died in the past year to write THE NAME OF THE DECEASED in this book. All are encouraged to bring a picture

of a deceased relative or friend, no larger than 8X10, for display in front of the Altar. We invite one representative from each family to participate in an opening procession by carrying a lit candle purchased for $5.00 at the parish office Mon-Thurs or from ushers before 6pm Mass on All Souls’ Day. Candles will remain burning throughout the Mass. After the Mass, all are invited for a small gathering at the Parish Center. Please bring a

dish to share. For additional information, contact Kathy Cho at (909) 797-2533 ext. 225

Parroquial. Por favor traiga un plato para compartir. Si tienen preguntas, contacten a Kathy Cho

al 909-797-2533 ext. 225.

God’s Ways

In the stream of readings during this portion of Ordinary Time one week’s texts can often appear to pick up exactly where the previous week’s concluded. The sentiments expressed in today’s first reading seem to be a direct reaction to the Gospel passage we heard last week. In that Gospel, the landowner pays the same wages to his workers whether they worked for a full day or for only a few minutes. Today Ezekiel gives us the lament, “The LORD’s way is not fair!”(Ezekiel 18:25). These Sundays in Ordinary Time offer us a glimpse into the ways of the Lord. We see how God’s way has the tendency to turn the accepted conventions of the day upside down. Those who always expected that their way to heaven was guaranteed are disappointed. Those who thought they never had a chance are given that chance. Today offers us another opportunity to discover the abundance of God’s mercy and love.

Questions of the Week

Question for Children: How do you show your love for Jesus by doing what he asks, even when it is difficult for you? Question for Youth: Today’s parable reminds us that it isn’t what we say that counts as much as what we do. How would someone know you are a Christian through your actions? Question for Adults: How and when were you like each of the sons in the Gospel?

“I was a stranger and you welcomed me…”

-Mt 25:34-35 REMEMBER

Fill out one of the Welcome Cards that are in the pews if you want more information about the parish, or to get more involved in parish activities. The cards are always available either in the pews or the podium in the Narthex. Once turned in you will get a call from one of the Welcome Committee members to greet you and help you

through the “maze” of information you may be wanting. For more information call Pat Kelly 760-399-2651.
