This past week was filled with many moments of prayers and meditation as we celebrated our parish feast. The highlight of our week of events was welcoming his em-inence Cardinal Dolan to our parish to celebrate our solemn feast day Mass this past Sunday. In his homily Cardinal Do-lan emphasized the effectiveness of the preaching of St. John Chrysostom. His preaching was effective because he had joy in his heart. Cardinal Dolan noted that we, as a par-ish, live out the example by our beloved patron. He noticed your smiles, your joyful demeanor, and your warm love for this community and one another. This joy and love come from knowing and loving God. Once again your love, dedication, and hard work serve to inspire me to serve you better. Spending time with our Lord daily in the adoration, celebrating the Holy sacri-fice of the Mass, and dedicating our new images of the blessed mother, gave us the profound opportunity to en-counter the risen Christ who literally died so that he may live in us. Our food sale allowed us to enjoy fraternity while working together and, for the first time since the beginning of the pandemic, spending quality time with one another. In a way this week helped us to re-examine our mission as a parish, our mission as Catholics. We are called to serve, love, and preach with great joy. Our beloved patron St. John Chrysostom dedicated his life to bringing others to God through his eloquent preaching. As Cardinal Dolan said to us, he see the qualities of our patron alive and well in the people of this great parish. I would like to thank all of you for a wonderful week that will certainly bestow many blessing upon us. I would like to thank Fr. Amable, Elizabeth Reyes, our parish business manager, who worked tirelessly to help prepare for the upcoming activities. I would also like to thank Maya Lewis, our Director of Music, our altar servers, Cesar Gomez, Maria Gonzalez and our ushers, our sacristan Anai Ramos, Alex Rubi and all those who so beautifully decorat-ed and cleaned our church for our celebrations. Lastly, I would like to thank all those who worked so hard to ensure the success of our food sale this past Sunday. I am so grate-ful for your devotion and hard work. You keep this beauti-ful parish alive. Please, continue to be who you are, joyful heralds of the Gospel. Thank you for all that you do! God Bless you all and may God bless our beautiful parish.

La semana pasada estuvo llena de muchos mo-mentos de oración y meditación mientras celebramos nuestra fiesta parroquial. El punto culminante de nuestra semana de eventos fue dar la bienvenida a su eminencia el Cardenal Do-lan a nuestra parroquia para celebrar nuestra misa solemne de fiesta el domingo pasado. En su homilía, el cardenal Dolan destacó la eficacia de la predicación de San Juan Crisóstomo. Su predicación fue eficaz porque tenía gozo en su corazón. El cardenal Dolan señaló que nosotros, como parroquia, vivimos el ejemplo de nuestro amado patrón. Él notó sus sonrisas, su comportamiento alegre y su cálido amor por esta comunidad y por los demás. Este gozo y amor provienen de conocer y amar a Dios. Una vez más, su amor, dedicación y trabajo sirven para inspirarme a servirle mejor. En pasar tiempo con nuestro Señor diariamente en la adoración, celebrar el Santo Sacrificio de la Misa y dedicar nuestras nuevas imágenes de la Santísima Madre, nos brindó la oportunidad profunda de encontrarnos con el Cristo resucitado que literalmente murió para que viva en nosotros. Nuestra venta de comida nos permitió disfrutar de la fraternidad mientras trabajamos juntos y, por primera vez desde el comienzo de la pandemia, pasamos tiempo de calidad juntos. En cierto modo, esta semana nos ayudó a re-examinar nuestra misión como parroquia, nuestra misión co-mo católicos. Estamos llamados a servir, amar y predicar con gran gozo. Nuestro amado patrón San Juan Crisóstomo dedi-có su vida a llevar a otros a Dios a través de su elocuente pre-dicación. Como nos dijo el Cardenal Dolan, ve las cualidades de nuestro patrón vivo y bien en la gente de esta gran parro-quia. Me gustaría agradecerles a todos por una semana mara-villosa que sin duda nos otorgará muchas bendiciones. Me gustaría agradecer al P. Amable, Elizabeth Re-yes, nuestra directora comercial parroquial, quien trabajó in-cansablemente para ayudar a prepararse para las próximas actividades. También me gustaría agradecer a Maya Lewis, nuestra Directora de Música, nuestros monaguillos, César Gómez, María González y nuestros ujieres, nuestra sacristán Anai Ramos, Alex Rubi y todos aquellos decoraron y limpia-ron nuestra iglesia para nuestras celebraciones. Por último, me gustaría agradecer a todos aquellos que trabajaron tan duro para asegurar el éxito de nuestra venta de alimentos el domin-go pasado. Estoy muy agradecido por su devoción y su traba-jo. Gracias por ayudarnos ganar fundos para nuestra iglesia. Por favor, sigan siendo quienes son, alegres heral-dos del Evangelio. ¡Gracias por todo lo que hacen! RCIA is a process for adults who are interested in learning more about the Catholic faith leading to becoming a

member of the Catholic Church. Baptized Catholics who have not yet received the sacraments of Holy Eucharist

and /or Confirmation are welcome to complete their preparation for the sacraments of initiation through participa-

tion in the RCIA process. If you are interested in

becoming a Catholic or completing your sacraments of initiation please contact

PROPAGATION OF THE FAITH—MARYKNOLL FATHERS AND BROTHERS Fr. Alfonso Kim, M.M. will be at the parish for the annual missionary cooperative appeal and collection for the Maryknoll Fathers and Brothers. We welcome Father Alfonso Kim, who will speak at all the Masses today. Maryknoll is the popular name for the Catholic Foreign Mission Society of America, which was founded in 1911 to follow Christ’s command to preach the Gospel to all the nations. They serve principally among the poor in places where the Church is unknown or in great need.
