With the arrival of autumn, please consider the use of Faith Direct if you have not registered yet. This is our

parish’s electronic eGiving program. To-do lists are lengthy for everyone with back-to-school and other fall activities. Using Faith Direct’s eGiving program will give you one less thing to remember each week – no more envelopes to find and checks to write before you go to Mass. Enroll today by visiting www.faithdirect.net and use our church code, (TX596), or pick up an enrollment form from the Forms Wall by the Welcome Center. Once you are set up on Faith Direct you can easily access donation summaries and also designate contributions to specific funds, like support of the Festival and building Funds. It’s a secure system, and parishioners that use it have given us very positive feedback regarding its use.

Society of St. Vincent de Paul 281.333.2509

Office Hours: Tuesday – Wednesday, 9:30 - 11:30 a.m., Thursday: 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

In the Gospel today Jesus says: “Repay to Caesar what belongs to Caesar and to God what belongs to God.” When God is the center of our lives there is no problem with giving others their due.

This month, through your gifts, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul was able to “bring good news” to the poor by assisting in the following ways. Thank You!

Number of Households Assisted: 133 Food $2,561 = 87 Families, 246 people (117children) Rent: $6,641.77 = 40 Families Utilities: $4,238.75 = 34 Families Home Visits: 10 Vincentians also logged 210.5 hours of service and 942 miles during the month of September. Neighbors in Need: Many of the neighbors we see suffer from underemployed. In today’s economic environment, there is a shortage of full time employment (even with minimum wage jobs). If you are aware of local job opportunities, please consider posting a note on the bulletin board outside the SVDP office (by Beck Hall).

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul meets the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month at 7 PM in the Conference Room at St. Paul. We invite you to join us if you are interested in serving God through this ministry. Our phone number is 281.333.2509 and our email is: [email protected].

PRAYING THE ROSARY October is the Month of the Rosary

The month of October is dedicated to Our Lady of the Holy Rosary. This devotion to Mary is a way of honoring the Mother of God as we reflect on

the Mysteries of the Rosary which take us through the events of Christ’s life and beyond. The daily practice of reciting the Rosary in the chapel follows the 8:30 a.m. Mass. Praying the rosary is a wonderful way to honor Mary together as a parish community. There are many intentions for which to pray, and the Rosary could be the way to daily remember those needs that call us to prayer. Please join us.

World Mission Sunday Approximately 15 missionary societies are here to display their missionary work/program in Founders’ Hall after the 10 AM Mass. Finger foods will be provided.

Prayer for Peace Lord, make me an instrument of Thy peace; where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; and where there is sadness, joy. O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood, as to understand; to be loved, as to love; for it is in giving that we receive, it is in pardoning that we are pardoned, and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. Amen.

NOTICE: DUE TO THE “OUT OF THIS WORLD FESTIVAL” THE WEEKEND OF OCTOBER 26/27, THE 5:00 PM SUNDAY MASS WILL NOT BE CELEBRATED. PLEASE MAKE PLANS TO ATTEND MASS AT 5:00 PM SATURDAY, 8:00 AM OR 10:00 AM SUNDAY OR SUNDAY, 12:00 NOON SPANISH. THANK YOU!

October is a busy, busy month!

Thank you Ms. Marlene for conducting a wonderful chapel session for our entire ECP program. Chapel has never been so much fun. The Fire truck visit was a blast. Pictures will be in for purchasing soon. Pizzas are coming! We will be selling pizzas in November to help support the ECP. More info on this to come. We look forward to seeing your name on the volunteer list for our Creepy Critter Carnival. We need lots of parents to pull off this fun day.
